Real Taxiways Europe – Duplicated taxiway signs at EDDF (Aerosoft)
-
When using Real Taxiways Europe together with Aerosoft Frankfurt (EDDF), taxiway signs are duplicated.
Package Reorder Tool does not resolve this issue, as both sets of signs are rendered simultaneously.

I hope you don't mind if I reply to only this post, since the issue is likely the same as your other one. Not too long ago, I described to a user (it might also be mentioned in the manual) how incorrect/misaligned configurations from a scenery creator could possibly create this scenario. Rather than get into the details about how/why, let's focus on solving your problem. Are you running MSFS on PC or Xbox, and do you have the Just Flight store version of Real Taxiways, or the Marketplace version?
-
I run on PC and I've bought from Just Flight store.
I noticed a similar problem at other airports, but I won't describe which ones for now, I'll just try to solve the problem according to your instructions. -
If you're using the PC version, then you should be able to completely remove Real Taxiways from the equation by removing/deleting/renaming the *.bgl file with the airport's identifier from the Real Taxiways package in your Community Folder. Obviously, this is not an ideal solution, but I split all the BGL's into different files just in case someone would have a problem like this, at least they would be able to have an immediate solution while we troubleshooted the rest.
-
“Yes, I know this solution. I did it this way with the BGL file, I just thought there might be some official alternative solution so that duplicate markings would not appear. In that case, I will wait for some updates from your side to resolve the problem.”
-
I'm glad you found that for an immediate solution, but I'm not sure there is anything that I will be able to push as an update, since the problem here is how Real Taxiways is interacting with 3rd party airports, which I cannot control, or always inspect myself to see exactly what's happening. Here, the question would be why these airports do not overwrite any taxiway signs below them in priority order. Just one simple question while I'm thinking of it: Can you describe how you changed the priority order in the Package Reorder Tool? I found the "bottom is higher priority" can be confusing to remember.
-
I changed the airport priority as you describe in the instructions, using the Package Reorder Tool, and I set Real Taxiway as a lower priority, meaning below the airports. In the library it is at the very bottom, and the airports are above Real Taxiway. The problem also appeared at EDDL by MK Studios, but for example at smaller airports like EPKK or EPKT I didn’t notice the issue. I’m sure those airports are above Real Taxiway. On the other hand, an airport like EGKK is below Real Taxiway, but I haven’t checked those airports yet. Unless I set this up incorrectly.
-
However, Kraków (EPKK) and Katowice (EPKT) have double taxiway signage.
I don’t know if I installed something incorrectly, but unless I’m missing something, this seems to be an issue with the addon itself.
If I had known in advance that these kinds of problems would occur, I probably wouldn’t have bought it. -

After rereading your message carefully, I'm sorry to ask one more time about the package reorder tool.
You said, "In the library it is at the very bottom, and the airports are above Real Taxiways."
Does this mean that you currently have Real Taxiways positioned all the way at the bottom of the list, appearing physically last, at the bottom of the window?
Here is what it says in the Real Taxiways manual, along with an accompanying illustration:
"Within the dialog that opens, higher priority packages are positioned at the bottom of the list."
"Use the arrow buttons to position the 3rd party airport BELOW the Real Taxiways packages"
From the sound of it, you have been doing the opposite, and positioning the airports ABOVE real taxiways in the list. Did I misunderstand your message, or might this be the culprit?
-
You see, I knew I messed something up. I thought the priority should be at the bottom—I understood it in a way that the scenery loads first, and then Real Taxiway loads at the end and overwrites the taxiway markings. But I moved it to the very top, above the airports. I’ve checked two airports that had issues, and so far everything is OK. So I think everything is back to normal now. Thanks for the help. If we had known all this from the beginning, support wouldn’t even be necessary.

That's wonderful! I'm so glad to hear that. Indeed, I thought it was really counterintuitive that the 2024 Package Reorder Tool works that way. So much so that I really had to make sure I had it right for the manual. Let me know if anything else comes up! You know where to find me.
