Hobbs/State saving not working
-
Hi. I want to report that hobbs hours are not being tracked and the options on the tablet do not save between sessions. I always quit my sim by selecting esc -> go back to main menu -> quick to desktop.
I found a workaround about the EFB settings: just manually edit the state.cfg file of the plane. But no luck about the hobbs meter, its very annoying

Thanks for letting me know, and I'm glad you found a solution for one problem. As I said in another thread recently, I have exactly nothing to do with the saving of the Hobbs time, so that should been seen as a further indication that there is something wrong with the Asobo cloud saving. Take a look at this thread and see if there might be something there worth trying for you. This seems to be a problem with growing recognition.

Are you launching flight simulator from an icon pinned to your taskbar by any chance? And does it ask you about starting up in safe mode often? I had things like this happen when I was launching it that way. Couldn't figure out why it thought it didn't shut down properly last time and would try to start in safe mode. I found an old post from someone having that issue on 2020 and it was the pinned taskbar icon. I stopped launching it that way and used either the desktop icon or the start menu and that problem went away and state saving started working better.

@MiRexer Thank you ! I am using the desktop icon or launching from the Steam library. I don't use task bar icons
@Black-Square Thank you Nick. I always wondered why I never had state saving issues with the JF planes, but I see that those use WASM code.

I've also experienced this and I am thinking it is because I had a custom tail number in the identification page. Once it deleted, the hobbs hour meter began counting up, and tablet options started saving between flights.
@bjratchf That's a very intriguing suggestion! If someone wants to test that, I would be very thankful. That's just the kind of simulator code slip-up that seems reasonable to me!

@bjratchf What is the identification page? Where you set the tail number on the aircraft selection screen?
-
@neucoas yes- one of the tabs where you can input the tailnumber. I have had the practice of leaving it blank because it really should be "baked in" by whatever paint scheme you load.

I use custom tail reg regularly, and my hobbs and state saving has always worked.
