Blowers not working on battery with tie closed
-
Hi!
Still enjoying Starship on a very regular basis, thank you for this amazing aircraft!
Because I also enjoyed under the hood stuff very much, I ran into something that I cannot explain myself.
With the battery on and then closing the gen tie (I know this is not common practice, but I like to play around), basically everything is powered. What I noticed, however, is that when then turning on the temp mode, no blowers become active. Whereas this blower becomes active immediately if I have external power or generator power.
With (at least seemingly from the tablet schematics) all buses powered, what could be the reason for these blowers/fans not to turn on?
Very curious to the reason behind it, hopefully someone can shed some light on this.
Thanks in advance and kind regards

I recall having to research this across multiple documents, and resolved to just try it in the real aircraft. Assuming my notes can be trusted, we found that...

Both blowers will operate when the temperature mode switch is on, and there is external power or a generator is online.

The cockpit blower will operate on battery power only when one of the avionics switch is on.

This means the cabin blower will only operate when the temperature mode switch is on, and there is external power or a generator is online.
This makes sense, as you need the cockpit blower for avionics cooling, but you would never want the cabin blower consuming electrical power unless you had it to spare, and without the avionics on, the only purpose either blower would serve is drying the captains hair
