Hello i want to determine the amount of fuel for a flight and thought i use the "FUEL MGMT" and "TRIP "PLANNING" menue on the CDU.

for "EST GS" i use 280
for "EST LBS/HR" is use 450

the resulting value "FUEL RQD" is way to low.

Am i doing soemthing wrong ?

    cheers
    Michael

Did you enter the departure and destination? What is the total distance of the flight?

Way too low compared to what? Trip Planning is just a rough amount based on going direct from point A to B, there's no alternates, reserve, or anything built into it.

Your lbs/hr estimate is too low, looks like it might be for just one engine. I get 550 lbs/hr in cruise at 35,000 feet. Getting up there is more like 1000 lbs/hr. Ground ops use fuel too. You need to account for all that in your estimate.

@MarkS hi Mark that could be yes. than the value "FUEL RQD" in Trip Planning is for one engine. sounds a bit weird to get an estimate for one engine but hey if i know its done like that i am fine with it. i ll give it another go and see how it works out. i cruise around 350 for one engine usually.
            thank you
