Order of checklist items
-
Hi,
that maybe a silly question, as the chcklist probably is a copy from the real thing, but I have noticed that you have to perform many items without the battery and without external power. So at night you are sitting quite a while in the aircraft with your flashlight out. Is that correct, or should the battery be turned on earlier? -
In theory, you can do whatever makes you comfortable once you understand the aircraft's systems. For added immersion, if you open the cabin door, a cockpit courtesy light is illuminated, which might be to your liking.

It is funny. The shutdown checklist says to turn off the pilot and copilot avionics about 7 items short of the end of list lmao
@Orlaam Just to check, are you suggesting this is in error, or inconvenient in some way?
-
Well, it was funny to me because I'm still learning. So I was checking the items off in the list with the avionics and turned off the displays, then realized I had a few more items that I couldn't see, lol. How would one use this list without power to the list on the display without referring to paper? You follow what I'm saying?

I plan on adding the checklists to the tablets in all my aircraft soon, by the way. I just haven't gotten around to it before Starship.

I've just been using the 2024 tablet for the checklist when the aircraft one isn't available. It works fine and I kinda like the table they provide. I welcome the checklist in the Starship tablet, and obviously use the tablet for monitoring things, but we have some really nice features in the default tablet. The approach plates and planner are great. Yes they are kinda basic and strange, but compared to nothing in 2020, it's a welcome change.

I did this yesterday. I was following the shutdown checklist and deliberately skipped the electronics so I could finish, then 10 seconds later I lost them anyway when I put both engines in cutoff.
I very clearly did not think that through
