Hello, Just wanted to know if i was the only person experiencing the Piston duke AP does not follow the the NAV. Honestly mostly everything works in the Piston Duke. Was using the TDS 750 working fine. However, when selecting Nav and then AP on the AP does nothing. It veers vertically and drastically up..

My autopilot doesn't work either. No idea what can be done, if anything, but I just thought I'd say you're not alone!

This is in MSFS 2024? I have not fully tested any of my aircraft in 2024 to root out these issues, because we are still waiting for more significant issues to be taken care of, some of which are coming in SU1. I assume you're familiar with the Dukes in 2020, so you have the electric trim power switch on, and know how the autopilot operates? What you're describing sounds similar to the typical GPS addon incompatibility issues that were common in 2020, as well. From my initial testing, I have not seen any issue with the autopilot in 2024 using the copied version of the 2020 Dukes. Do you both have the aircraft working as expected in 2020? Do you have anything different in your 2024 community folder that might be conflicting? Screenshots are always helpful for diagnosing issues too. While I'm not officially supporting my aircraft in 2024 yet, I am happy to take a friendly look and see what I can do for you here with more information.

OMG!!!! You're right. At least in my case, anyway. Despite many happy hours in the Dukes in 2020, all I'd done was forget the pitch trim switch! I guess I was just cognitively biased towards expecting something to go wrong in 2024 and was looking out for it. Biased enough to miss a step in the checklists, no less. I should know better, but at least I don't have to kill myself to find out.

A chastening lesson in confirmation bias...

Sorry to have wasted your time. I'm thrilled to be able to get back to flying the best plane ever!

@Biggles3601 said in Ap and Nav not working in MSFS 24?:

You're talking to an expert when it comes to this faux pas! It's embarrassing how many hours I have spent trying to track down bugs in my aircraft, only to discover that my MTBF failure system is behaving exactly the way it should, and the only bug is the triggered failure! It makes me very thankful that I don't have to think about debugging code while flying approaches in the real world!
