@sender46 That's a lot closer to what I'm seeing in the sim!

Another thing to note when comparing Youtube videos of flying in turbulence with what you experience in the sim is Head Shake... If you have Head Shake ebnabled in the Cockpit camera settings, you will be seeing what the pilot sees, not what a fixed camera attached to the aircraft sees... What the fixed camera sees, and shows in the video, is much different in terms of how much the nose appears to move up and down against the horizon! So, for a fair comparison you should turn off Head Shake, in addition to flying at the same altitude over the same terrain, and in the same wind conditions as shown in the video.

I just performed a test flight from the same location (Coventry), at the same altitude (3000 ft.), and in the same wind conditions (280 at 14 knots) as the video posted above, with camera Head Shake turned OFF as it would be for a camera attached to the aircraft... and the results were surprisingly almost identical in terms of the aircrafts pitch stability and response to turbulence... Try it for yourself.

Someone wondered about the Warrior. Here is how my Warrior flies in turbulence. I can't see anything wrong.

Just bought the turbos and the first thing I noticed was that weird vertical movement you're talking about. In fact entered this forum to see if I could find something about that. Agree that it is annoying and immersion breaking, specially on landings. It feels artificial, like if the plane is artificially overriding the air bumps, or vertical movements or something like that. I totally understand the current limitations of MSFS and really hope that this could be solved or at least softened in a future update. Otherwise it's a very very good aircraft.

I haven't found a fix for it but what helped me is simply try to not counter it with stick input.
What is weird is that the pitch up and down mostly seems to be a visual thing, and the plane doesn't actually start to climb/descend as much as the instant visual change makes you think.

Having flown mostly over smoother terrain i had nearly forgotten about this, but was reminded when i entered a hilly area. Really hoping for a dampened effect, or maibe not a dampened but have the pitch change actualy take a tiny bit more time so it looks less like a stutter and more like a punch from the air.

Edit: Should say though that while this is a major annoyance when i do fly over hilly/mountainous regions, having flown the (turbo)Arrows from the netherlands, over the UK, back through france and now in the midle of Africa, mostly handflown all the way, it is a downright fantastic plane in every other regard.

Just commenting to see if anyone has gotten anywhere with this. An update came out today! Looking forward to seeing if anything changed with this problem. I have this same issue with the Turbo Arrow III and IV. My biggest issue is landing. It’s almost impossible to have a smooth landing with this problem. Just jerky movements up and down while trying to roll out and flare.

I actually submitted a support ticket earlier today and they responded saying to make sure I’m flying on “Modern” flight model, and that my joystick sensitivity is as they recommended. I assured them I was and it is. They said to send a video of the issue, so I’ll do that later and update here when I get a final response from them.

Unfortunately no, for me it's usable only in super smooth weather. And the 0.5.0 update change log says nothing about it.

@stagefer I can confirm. Just done flight in not calm weather with metar:
                    180830Z 23011KT 6000 BKN009 BKN017 06/06 Q1020 and Arrow III is still not flyable 😞
It's jerks up and down, very over wild. in addition, the plane slips terribly sideways in an uncontrolled way, using the rudder is impossible to calm it down.

What is strange, when this pitch jerks appear vertical pitch indicator still show level flight and looks like it's only animation case.

Of course using JPLCessna, moded DA40, DA62, Modded XCub in the same time, flight was rought but stll controlable. So think that last update didn't provide any flight model update.

The changelog lists all of the changes. Unfortunately we were not able to include FDE changes in this update due to our FDE developer having significant internet connection issues which we hope will be resolved soon. We will release the FDE changes as soon as we have them.

@martyn Do you have a more certain release date? Shall we send some internets to the FD dev? By now any changes should have reached you even with the normal postal service 🙂 It has been quite a while now that the aircraft basically has been unuseable as the violent shaking is beyond bearable.

I honestly struggle to fly the plane over hilly terrain and in windy conditions, it is nearly vertigo inducing. I would really love to be able to comfortably fly the plane more.

@cgnoorloos Actually I think the flight model improvements were done in 0.10.2, because 0.10.3 was just a hotfix. In that case you probably already had the improvements that I was talking about

I was just pointed to this one and i shall copy my text from my post here too.

What frustrates me a lot here is that i spend over a week watching reviews on YT, etc, and nowehere did i see this mentioned (until now). Not even when i asked for bugs.
Since i generaly fly between 1000-2000ft it simply makes the plane nearly unflyable as the FM just feels broken over uneven ground. I am also quite sure it has to do with updrafts/ downdrafts from the ground geometry.

It is honestly so bad that if i could i would ask for a refund if this isn't fixable, despite how amazing the module is otherwise. This is simply just absolutely broken where i do 90% of my flying.

                                        Here is my post:

                                        Hey all.
I am having issues where the plane behaves very erratic during flight over steep cliffs/mountain sides and hitting the turbulent rising air.
It seems to really kick the nose of the plane up and down in a lightning fast manner. So fast it nearly looks like stutters (which it isn't).

It this a known bug and will it be fixed? Over very mountainous areas it is nearly headace inducing when it jumps up and down a lot.

When over water or smooth/roling landscape it flies absolutely beautifull.

@cgnoorloos I just bought this plane a couple of weeks ago and immediately noticed the same thing. It doesn't seem tied to ground geometry, just turbulence. The small pitch changes are so abrupt and jarring that I get a headache from it. None of the other planes I've flown in MSFS are like this. I'm not sure if it is the flight model (as if there is no angular momentum in the pitch direction) or something else. The other thing that I noticed is that elevator input results in extremely fast and precise pitch moments as well which doesn't feel right. I was really looking forward to this plane, but at this point I don't want to fly it. The fact that many people fly this model without complaint leads me to believe there is some other interaction or corruption involved. My purchase was through the marketplace for reference. I really hope the devs can crack this problem.

@cgnoorloos Actually I think the flight model improvements were done in 0.10.2, because 0.10.3 was just a hotfix. In that case you probably already had the improvements that I was talking about

@n293wk Yeah had no change unfortunately. Quite a shame, i hope it gets fixed somehow.
