Chocks and State Saving issue
-
Hello,
I've noticed two "changes" after update.
1: The parking brake logic is no longer as realistic as it used to be. Previously, the chocks were set and I released the parking brake. Pedals in cockpit are not depressed. Very realistic.
After an update, however, the problem is that the chocks (in position) push the pedals in the cockpit down, and the pressure readings at the gauges also increase – even though the parking brake isn't engaged and I'm not pressing the pedals down. This behavior seems very unrealistic to me. Why was this changed? The chock/parking brake behavior was perfect to me before the update.
I've also experienced that I couldn't remove the chocks when the aircraft was on the ground. Presumably, there's a trigger that prevents chock removal only after a certain point in the cheklist-steps. Is it possible to reverse this complete behavior?2: The state saving option no longer includes the parking brake. It's always engaged when I reload the aircraft. However, it's more realistic that the parking brake is released when I board an cold and dark aircraft because the chocks are set in place. Why was the parking brake excluded from the state saving process and are any other elements excluded as well?
I actually think it's better to let the user decide, how he wants to "board" the aircraft especially since the manufacturer has already provided the state saving option. Otherwise, I could just click on "cold and dark".And 3: I love this Addon since FSX - thanks for bringing it into msfs ! You guys did a great job - THANKS for that !

Greetings, Volker.

I'm not aware of any intentional changes to the parking brake/chocks logic in the most recent 146 updates, so I'd have to check with the team on that one. However, the chocks intentionally cannot be removed unless all doors and other ground equipment are removed, and I suspect that if a state is loaded that has any doors/ground equipment enabled, then that will force the chocks/parking brake to be applied.

Hi Mark,
thank you so much for the quick response. Something must have been changed with the parking brake, because in the past it definitely behaved as I described. The pedals were not depressed when the chocks were engaged and the parking brake was released. No indication of pressure at the gauges. The chocks could also be removed at any time. Thank you so much for looking into this!I also recently had another problem with the state saving – the file must have been corrupted for reasons unknown to me. The switches in the cockpit were randomly set and completely jumbled up. The clickspots in the EFB were ineffective (cold and dark, etc.). After reading through the forum, I found the file path and deleted it (StateSave.ini). Now this problem is resolved. Are there any other files I could try deleting? Perhaps that will solve the parking brake issue?
(Previously, I had completely uninstalled and reinstalled the aircraft. However, the StateSave.ini file was not affected by this...)Greetings Volker
