feature requests pulse lite mod and UNS-1 option.

with the RJ going strong i was wondering if there could be a few more features added. many airlines had UNS-1 fitted in their RJ's including the airline i was contracted too, certainly a feature option i would appreciate as I'm loving it in the 146 and f28. Secondly what are the possibilities of looking into pulse lite mod that many RJ's and 146's were fitted with. Referenced materials have the RWY EXT switch swapped to a three position switch enabling pulsing landing lights with landing light switches to off position and three position to pulse, with the halogen effect already in place on the RJ and 146 i think this would be a really cool effect and good representation of aircraft flown here in Australia. included are some reference photos and videos sourced from you tube.
cheers

The UNS-1 is something we have discussed internally and we have it listed on our internal feature request tracker. Unfortunately, it's something that would require a lot of work to integrate it with the autopilot and EFIS. I seem to recall there are subtle differences with the EFIS ND that vary based on which FMS is fitted that would need to be simulated (such as the way holding patterns are displayed). Never say never, but it's not something we are looking to add in the near future.
With regards to the "PULSELITE" that's something I've never seen before in the RJ! Looking through our documentation I can't find any references of it anywhere, so do you perhaps know if that was a retrofit specific to one airline? We have logged this on our internal feature request though and we'll see if we can find any documentation on it.

ill talk to some NJE engineers but at least here in Australia all 146's and RJ's were fitted with them as part of a life extension and modification program. https://modstore.aero/aircraft/bae-systems/146-avro-rj/aircraft-general-ata-5-18

FYI, Pulse-lite are commonly standard on American built business jets.
The UNS fitted to the Australia 146/RJ aircraft may be either the UNS 1L or UNS 1Fw and differ from the JF version.

@Paul-Cairns yes however there was a retro fit done by national jet systems in Australia for the 146 family of aircraft. They also fitted the kit to 717's operated by national jet on behalf of QantasLink as these aircraft like many Aussie 146's operated into remote and uncontrolled airfields mostly at mines or small outback communities where birds are quite a hazard. (you think a pelican is big then wait until you see a wedgetail lingering on final approach as it hunts for its next meal).
More so the trend has continued to Dash 8, Fokker 70/100 (also a cheeky feature request @Mark ) and Boeing 737 aircraft.

Alex. Yes, the UNS 1L which has subsequently been upgraded to the UNS 1Fw.
Have some sympathy for chief pilots… I’’m told some of us have feelings and many lack hair.

what do you mean by "many" @Paul-Cairns , I'm yet to meet one that has hair

I was being kind. 😩
