Climb out and altitude setting

Good day,
I’ve noticed when I’m in the climbing to the pre-set altitude, the plane totally misses the set altitude on the altimeter and continues to climb. I’m sure it’s user error, but what am I missing that would cause that. After it’s missed the altitude, if I set the VSpeed to descend it will capture. Thanks

Hi, I also had that, does not happen when you enable the LVL Change switch... but I used to do the same, by using the VSpeed to decend to the correct CRZ ALT...

I will try that. Makes sense. I know in some A/C that if you use VSpeed to descend it will make a smoking hole in the ground.
