Some time ago were many complaints about the performance of the 146, lots of stutter and low fps which were later resolved on both Xbox and pc. Now there is the same problem with rj. Even in default airports you have bad performance especially during taxi, during cruise it seems to be normal.

Also, like when there was bad performance with 146 and now with rj I noticed that when I was moving the yoke with 146 before the update it was unresponsive and not fluid at all. The controls are ok it was just the animation that was not smooth, after the 146 update it was smooth with good animation. The same problem occurs now with the rj, this makes me realize that performance wise the rj is worse than the 146

Yeah I'd really like to see Just Flight focus more on optimizing performance on all their airliners (146, F28, upcoming F70/F100 and A300). These planes are not any more complex than other airliners in the sim from other developers (PMDG, Fenix, etc.), yet Just Flight airliners consistently have significantly poorer performance compared to other developers.

I was really interested in purchasing this on Xbox but after reading this I'm really not sure.

If you look forward to it you can get it, you can enjoy it if you don't demand good performance. But I assure you that from my experience just Flight listens to their customers and like 146 I'm sure an update will come soon that will fix everything.

From our tests on Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X, the RJ performs equally to some of our other airliners on Xbox and thus passed our internal checks for a release. The Series S in particular can start to struggle with any product at times, particularly around intensive scenery areas, but this is expected due to the extremely limited VRAM in that console. The Series X is more akin to a decent spec gaming PC and from our tests can run similarly to a PC for the most part, but can also start to bog down when using a high-fidelity aircraft, with a highly-detailed airport scenery, with Ai Traffic enabled, etc.

As with any of our products though, the RJ will continue to be supported in the long term, and performance improvements will be included in some future updates.

We do also have the following FAQ available that covers some performance tips for Xbox users (Note: This isn't specific to the RJ, just general performance tips for any product on Xbox): https://support.justflight.com/en/support/solutions/articles/17000142839-performance-tips-for-xbox-consoles

Basically I should reduce my experience on the simulator to zero in order to have a decent flight ? I bought the simulator to enjoy everything it has to offer, when msfs implemented that scenery and landscapes decrease in resolution to get better performance they ruined the sim. I can't use traffic, I can't use third-party scenery and airports, I can't use photogrammetry and I can’t use the world update ... so what's left of the simulator here? Ahahah. They haven’t adjusted anything, the resolution decreases dramatically, melted buildings, pixelated terrain, it's horrible... I would have to fly a default cessna 172 forever which is horrible…

As stated in the FAQ linked above, those are performance tips, not mandatory settings. The settings chosen are completely up to the discretion of the user based on their personal experience and preferences.

Unfortunately, just as a low-spec PC will struggle to run MSFS at Ultra Graphics settings, with high-fidelity third-party aircraft and high-quality third-party airport scenery, Xbox consoles will also struggle (particularly the Series S with its extremely limited VRAM).

As Xbox users don't have access to the Graphics settings that PC users do, there is a very limited number of ways that performance can be adjusted. The tips listed in that FAQ are some ways that Xbox users can improve their performance if required, based on our experience when testing products.

Hi Mark, thanks for the suggestions and response here. Just wanted to say that I've followed all the tips on the FAQs on XSX and still experiencing some sluggish performance. Things I've noticed:

                    • Yoke movement is quite stuttered, not smooth
                    • There's a bit of a delay between clicking and the button actually being pressed in the cockpit - particularly obvious when operating the FMC
                    • Most importantly - just after takeoff or on landing, I'm finding that the sim's time slows down quite significantly compared to 'real time' (around 60-70% - I've run a stopwatch and compared it to the cockpit clock) which really makes the 'challenge' of landing much easier and ruins immersion somewhat. This isn't just an RJ issue but probably the plane I notice it most with at present.

Love the product so hoping that there's some consideration for further optimisation of the RJ for 2020, particularly as 2024 isn't really working on XSX for the time being.

But also maybe in the long term, when 2024 is at all useable on the XSX performance will be less of an issue.

Right so - just did a bit of a test on XSX, albeit without a big flight plan loaded, just did a circuit at LFML and put the copilot’s EFIS off and the EFB off after using it for all the necessary pre-flight stuff and things seemed better! still a bit slow but I’d say the sim lost a few seconds at takeoff and a few just before landing. Was a big improvement on before in comparison but still not exactly where I’d want it.

At least it makes me feel like I want to use the plane instead of wait for an update so that’s a win!

I’m also experiencing lagging and stuttering on the RJ, losing 2–4 minutes on every flight. Looking around feels very sluggish. I’ve followed all the recommended steps, but the issues persist.

That said, this is a fantastic aircraft, and I’m thoroughly enjoying it! If performance enhancements could be considered for the Xbox X, it would be greatly appreciated. From my experience the developers always are on top of it all.

Same on PC. Although I love the airplane and use it very often, I have to be honest and say that it is a very poor add-on from a performance point of view. In the meantime I use a Ryzen 7 9800 X3D and I can get the RJ in Aerosoft EDDF with BATC to under 30, partly even below 25 FPS(!!!) - CPU-bound. Even the Fenix is always around 10 FPS (or more) better in the worst case, the PMDG even 15+ FPS. Guys, you really need to do something about this, it's almost ridiculous. And the other two (BAE & Fokker) aren't much better either. I'm not saying that as a hater but as a fan of your products.
