The manual says that when in altitude hold you can adjust up or down to ascend or descend by using the mouse wheel within the outer perimeter of the coupler.

This does not seem to work effectively. Looking for input from others regarding this.

This is easier to do if you have cursor tooltips enabled. When you hover over the click-spot it will pop up with the tooltip so you can confirm you have the right spot, and I think it actually has the selected altitude in the tooltip so as you scroll your mouse wheel you can see what altitude is selected

Do you recall which GPS unit was selected on the EFB when you tried this? The autopilot logic will vary depending on what GPS is selected.

With "NO GPS" selected on the EFB, the PA28s use our autopilot logic so should work as per the manual. With any of the GPS options selected, the autopilot behaviour can change as the GPS units have their own custom autopilot logic which tries to overwrite our own autopilot logic.

Another suggestion, from discussion this morning:

Are you using the LEGACY or LOCK cockpit interaction system (Options > General Options > Accessibility > User Interface > Cockpit Interaction System)?

If you are using LOCK, can you please try LEGACY?

          Cheers,

          Ian P - Just Flight.

I'm encountering the same issue when using the LOCK interaction mode. When I hover over the VS click spot and scroll the mouse wheel, it zooms the view in or out instead of adjusting the VS setting. Switching to the LEGACY interaction system does resolve the problem. However, since I use LOCK by default, it's not very convenient to constantly switch to LEGACY just for the Arrow. It would be great if this inconvenience could be addressed somehow. Everything else is fantastic - an outstanding product, thank you for it.

I too am stuck on this. I can't adjust altitude whatsoever. I tried switching from lock to legacy mode but the Sim just switches it straight back to lock as soon as I change it. Can we please get this changed so it works in lock mode as now I can't use the autopilot properly. And it makes me not want to fly the plane

This is something we have logged on our internal bug tracker to investigate ahead of a future update to our PA28s, however, at this time, we aren't able to provide a timeframe for when the next update may be.

However, it is worth considering that the Altitude Hold and Vertical Speed controls are only implemented as quality-of-life additions and don't exist on the real aircraft. If you would like to use these features with the current builds of our PA28s, we would recommend using the LEGACY Cockpit Interaction System.

@Mark I did try to use the legacy control via the settings. But when I click on it, it clicks straight back to lock immediately.

There are some users on the official MSFS forums reporting similar behaviour with not being able to select LEGACY interaction: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/cannot-select-legacy-cockpit-interaction-reverts-to-lock-xbox/667061

It's not something I've ever come across before, and there aren't any solutions that I can see from a brief search. With only a small number of users reporting it, that would point towards there being something in common with the setups of those users that is causing it. It'll be worth checking that forum post above to see if you have anything in common with those users, and then replying to that post with any additional information.
