No traffic at arrival airport

@bpfonteyn To get a feeling of the whole system (especially with traffic at the destination) I did my first testflights with small, default airports. Next complex destination, next complex departure.
Yes, very annoying for a payware product, but still ...
I still don't have a clue how the whole system works! That's why I startet the topic: Please give us some info and best practice about destination
But I didn't got that much useful answers (yet) :-( -
@rich said in No traffic at arrival airport:
We will be supporting alternate destinations in flight asap.
Does this mean, (despite the manual: "The destination ICAO can be changed at any time during a flight, allowing for flights to alternate airports."!!) alternates doesn't work at all at the moment?!?
I thought this happens only on my system! :astonished_face: -
same issue here, i m making some test, i have a feeling (just a feeling) it has something to do with jetways. when i don’t use jetways for boarding (my plane!) at departure, i have traffic on arrival.
but again, might be a placebo, you know how wierd things are ! -
@gogolito Hm, I never paid attention to be honest. Some of the quick testflights I did with the MB-339, so no boarding. When I use boarding and jetways, I even use GSX!!
- So, maybe using jetways is part of the object-limit (more objects in use when moving)?
- is the object-limit part of the whole flightsimsession (all objects from departure, during flight, 'til arrival?)?
- or is the object-limit only part of the actual scene (like what I "see" on screen right now?)?
-
Allright, I thought I know how to do it.
Tonight, flight from EDDN to EDDM, PMDG 737-700.- traffic at departure (arrivals and departures)!
- at arrival? Nothing, niente, nada, no aircrafts!! :angry_face:
- startet FSTL, lots of aircrafts at the gates
This software is driving me nuts!

Steve, i have 100%success so far and this is how (it s something i ve read on another forum ) ;
once flight is loaded , open fs traffic toolbar and WAIT for the arrival ICAO to fill automatically.
then DO NOT press confirm. wait a few second and close it.
i also lowered time before departure to 90 minutes.
100% success -
Thank you for all your feedback. It's so dissapointing, that the devs don't kick in and give us suggestions how it's done correct!
I think it's very important when you open the destination aka toolbar-window. I did it after takeoff and this is probably to late! I will do it next time before I even move my plane and will report. -

Certainly a dev stated that you should open the JF button on the toolbar and wait for the destination ICAO to auto-populate. This can take a moment or two.
Also there is the manual, which gives you two methods of flight planning.
They are aware of the issues.

Same issue for me as well. Have tested FSTraffic the entire weekend completing different flights of various durations on PMDG 737-800. A lot of traffic on departure airport and absolutely NO TRAFFIC at arrival airport.
Just Flight, fix your software as soon as possible!

@steve67 Hello,
Honestly its a little bit baffling why everyone is having different experiences. All of the suggestions above should work in theory. One thing I would suggest if using the toolbar option, is leaving it open for at least 20 seconds after confirming the destination.
You are correct about opening the toolbar, even if you used the MSFS flight planner, the toolbar should still be opened, preferably at the start of the flight but as long as its opened at some point well before the destination you should be good.
Are you familiar with MSFS's dev mode option at all. That can give us some pointers as to what might be going on.

@vanngster We are working on a major revamp of the system which should sort out the instability of destination traffic. As I said above its baffling why everyone seems to have different experiences however we believe that simplifying things under the hood should stop these issues.
In the meantime if you haven't already, please send a support ticket. Support will give you instructions to send you console log which should give us some idea what might be going on in your case.
