No traffic at arrival airport
-
Allright, I thought I know how to do it.
Tonight, flight from EDDN to EDDM, PMDG 737-700.- traffic at departure (arrivals and departures)!
- at arrival? Nothing, niente, nada, no aircrafts!!
- startet FSTL, lots of aircrafts at the gates
This software is driving me nuts!

Steve, i have 100%success so far and this is how (it s something i ve read on another forum ) ;
once flight is loaded , open fs traffic toolbar and WAIT for the arrival ICAO to fill automatically.
then DO NOT press confirm. wait a few second and close it.
i also lowered time before departure to 90 minutes.
100% success -
Thank you for all your feedback. It's so dissapointing, that the devs don't kick in and give us suggestions how it's done correct!
I think it's very important when you open the destination aka toolbar-window. I did it after takeoff and this is probably to late! I will do it next time before I even move my plane and will report. -

Certainly a dev stated that you should open the JF button on the toolbar and wait for the destination ICAO to auto-populate. This can take a moment or two.
Also there is the manual, which gives you two methods of flight planning.
They are aware of the issues.

Same issue for me as well. Have tested FSTraffic the entire weekend completing different flights of various durations on PMDG 737-800. A lot of traffic on departure airport and absolutely NO TRAFFIC at arrival airport.
Just Flight, fix your software as soon as possible!

@steve67 Hello,
Honestly its a little bit baffling why everyone is having different experiences. All of the suggestions above should work in theory. One thing I would suggest if using the toolbar option, is leaving it open for at least 20 seconds after confirming the destination.
You are correct about opening the toolbar, even if you used the MSFS flight planner, the toolbar should still be opened, preferably at the start of the flight but as long as its opened at some point well before the destination you should be good.
Are you familiar with MSFS's dev mode option at all. That can give us some pointers as to what might be going on.

@vanngster We are working on a major revamp of the system which should sort out the instability of destination traffic. As I said above its baffling why everyone seems to have different experiences however we believe that simplifying things under the hood should stop these issues.
In the meantime if you haven't already, please send a support ticket. Support will give you instructions to send you console log which should give us some idea what might be going on in your case.

Hi,
I will describe what I tried but with no luck. Interesting is that before Fs traffic update I had few traffic movement at destination airport not a lot but few.
I already sent ticket.1st procedure: I load into the flight wait a few seconds then I open Fs traffic toolbar enter destination ICAO confirm it- no traffic
2nd: I create flight plan in MSFS flight planner, load into the flight then I open Fs traffic toolbar wait for destination ICAO to auto populate in toolbar, confirm it- no traffic
3rd: the same as 2nd only this time I don't confirm it I just close toolbar- no traffic
4th: I disable Fs traffic toolbar, I load into the flight, enter destination ICAO in Fs traffic center- no traffic
5th: the same as the 4th only this time I enter destination in MSFS planner and in Fs traffic center- no traffic.
I feel like this software was not tested at all, because this issue is very common as seen on this forum and others..

@jf-john I submitted a support request 11 days ago and haven't heard anything back yet other than the standard do not reply email. What is the current turn around time for support tickets?
Cancel that, logged into the support ticket and found you did reply but had issues with my email.

So frustrating, WITH traffic on the departure airport it is so BEAUTIFUL but with the complete silence (no traffic) at arrival it is so…., FRUSTRATING, hope you can solve this. It’s a must have for me, with this tool I go from a game to a sim haha! Good luck with solving this issue!!!

I agree. I set up a support ticket and was asked to go into dev mode after a flight and copy some data and put it in a template form JF sent me. I've done this for every flight where traffic has not generated at the destination Airfield which atm seems to be 99.9% of the time. So hopefully every form I submit will help and I would encourage others with the issue to raise a ticket and do the same.
I know its a pain but if everyone who is having issues does this, then it helps get the problem solved then its no bad to take a bit of your time to provide the info they ask for.
What I found even more annoying and I'm new to MSFS 2020 was flying into KSFO tonight expecting no traffic but also to find the airfield pitch black dark (Not a FS Traffic issue). So even if there was any AI generated I couldn't see it any way.

@jf-john said in Please give us some info and best practice about destination:
... there is a requirement that you pass 250knots at 5,000ft to activate the processing of the flightplans. When our attention turns to GA we'll look at
Did you pass 5,000ft and flew at least 250kts?
What worked best for me is to plan my flights in MSFS Worldmap including a destination, and don't change a thing! As I fly commercial jets in the sim, I'm always cruising around FL360-410 however at this FL dependant on the aircraft your flying in, your indicated airspeed will be below 250 as your in Mach speed at those heights. I have wondered if this is why there is issues with traffic generating while in cruise? either way traffic generating at the destination seems to be the biggest issue I think.
I always set up my flights using the MSFS flight plan before starting and it doesn't change a thing you are correct.

Happy days :) I cant wait. I agree John the more people with these issues follow the support ticket route and provide the said evidence you request the quicker it can be solved.
