    Hi -

I'm on the latest 1.2 build with nothing installed other than the BAE 146.

I think I've identified a bug that I can recreate every time I climb above 26,500.

My CPU utilization goes up and I'm getting red lines on the manipulators every 1s or so. I lose about 10-15 FPS. As soon as I descend back down below 26,500, everything seems generally smooth again.

Has anyone else experienced this? Easy way to check is to load up a flight at a random point at altitude around FL250, then try climbing up to FL270 and see if you experience this passing through 26,500.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!
    Brandon

I've been cruising at FL280 without issue save one: yesterday I had to step away in cruise so I hit ESC to pull up the menu. Came back half an hour later or so and the sim was a slideshow, I was down to sub 20 fps.

I played a few minutes like that and it didn't clear up, so I just quit, which took way longer than it should have.

Dunno if that's related to what you're seeing or not but it certainly hasn't happened every time.

@bburkley Not sure how to recreate. I am using the 1.2 build.

I have been cruising at 29000 feet for the last 2 hours. Gnd Speed 390.
I have climbed all the way from the ground and a cold and dark start.

Internal FPS is 51 and external FPS is 65.
I have noticed no difference in FPS with altitude.

    I am using a 5950X and a NVIDIA 3080.

I do have interior cabin turned off. I also have cockpit pilots turned off.

I would recommend trying to turn the interior cabin off if you haven't done so already.

    Thanks for the reports guys.

@brakesnoreverse Interesting, I have a similar system, except a 5900X and a 3090. I'm getting similar FPS to you in all other occasions. I saw someone bring this up on the MSFS forums and heard a mention of this happening on the higher latitudes and I realized all my tests so far to recreate this were in Sweden and Denmark. I'll try again later at lower latitudes and see what happens.

I'll also try with the interior cabin turned off and see if that does anything.

@bburkley Update: I've tried cruising above this altitude in the US (Chicago area) and I don't have this issue...so the high latitudes may be the issue here. If any of you are up in the Nordics, would you please let me know if you're seeing this too at cruise?

I'm going to try low latitudes tonight, maybe New Zealand or the tip of South America to see if I'm getting these issues.

This may indeed be a MSFS issue, I'll have to try with other aircraft.

@bburkley Been flying in the 146 up and down the Nordics (Finland, Sweden, Norway) with no issues. 3600X and RTX3070.

@bburkley I have been having a terrible time with my rig/msfs not playing ball but I seem to have got to the bottom of it all (touch wood). A lot of folks are complaining of stuttering since SU9 and CTD issues etc. I did lots of things so they all could have had an effect but the thing that stopped the crashes and stutters ultimately was to switch the task priority of msfs to Low via task manager and to prioritize Background services instead of Programs in advanced system settings.

Have a read at this and give it a bash if you haven't already: https://www.reddit.com/r/flightsim/comments/idmdqq/update_msfs_2020_stuttering_when_window_focused/

There is every chance it is entirely unrelated but every little helps!
