Will the FMS be getting any further updates post release ? The current implementation is fairly basic, when compared to other recently released products. Also some of the development screenshots show a Universal FMS, is this planned ? I think a more realistic FMS would complete this already Excellent product.

They have said post launch they want to integrate the 750 and make a UNS-1 (I think that's the model) FMS for it, which is what it was equipped with.

There will likely be some further features added to the FMS but it's pretty complete in terms of it's use in the 146, which only has basic LNAV capability. We are looking at some performance data but note that won't include a VNAV capability as the real 146 wasn't capable of that, and the UNS-1 FMC doesn't offer that either.

Yes, we expect to add both the GTN 750 and UNS-1 in future updates.

@martyn Any rough timeframe for those? Like this year or will it take longer (no idea what kind of devtime that takes)

@martyn Why does it have the VNAV button on the AP panel then? Was it something they were planning to add but never did or what?

Oh, also it might just be a flavour thing but it is a little odd that the FMS does refer to itself as Working Title CJ4 somewhere in there too still.

@melon I also see the V NAV button on a real 146-100 plane so that's at least as it should be.

But I can't find any reference on the functionality of this button and how it should behave, but I find it hard to imagine British Aerospace would design and build a non-functional button in a real plane :face_with_tears_of_joy:

@melon Well I don't expect a VNAV system as we have on today's planes but some basic form of it, but as said, it's hard to find any reference on the real functionality. But we may assume there was at least some form of it. We shall see what @Martyn and his team can come up with. Seeing how good this representation of the real plane is, I'm sure it will be at the same level.

As someone from the A320 generation, it's a real challenge to fly this plane as it should be, so it's great fun and I'm really addicted to this JF plane right now. Thanks Martyn & team!

@melon I can only assume that the manufacturer intended to retrofit V NAV functionality but that never happened, although it was available in the later RJ variants. The FCOMs only say, "This mode is not activated", so like the real aircraft you can push the button in our 146 but it serves no purpose.

@martyn Heh... zee button, it does nothink.

If/when you guys add the GTN750 (it is that which the fire fighters used right?) I wonder, if like the paid version of the 750 mod, it would work with it since I think that has some sort of VNAV calculations. Which I presume the real version of the 750 has? Unless its only new iteration that weren't around for the 146.
