I think it is some sort of copy protection brought on by a conflicted install when I had to disable my firewall half way through the activation process.

My new MSFS 146 is totally unflyable. The instrumentation is non functional.

I had a firewall activated when I tried to install it and I figured that perhaps it failed the activation (although it still installed after initially complaining that there was no internet). I have rolled back my PC to an earlier backup and reinstalled with no luck.

The 146 still knows my Simbrief ID so it must be storing the info somewhere else other than C: drive (which I rolled back) or perhaps it accesses the data from the internet.

In any case, the 146 has one throttle deliberately reversed, the instruments are locked, the elevator is locked upwards and if I try to take off, the plane will not leave the ground. I have removed all from my Community folder.

It’s behavior is bizarre, so I am convinced it has screwed up my activation. After the C: drive rollback, it asked me to activate again (with no change), but like I said, it still knows my simbrief ID so something is being stored elsewhere and perhaps it is corrupted.

@derek Thankyou. I sorted it out. A perfect storm of coincidences and some user stupidity thrown in. Cheers
