When using the GNS530 (or looking at my Saitek radio panel), I've noticed that the Piper sometimes gives me 0.0 as standby frequencies. It only happens sometimes.

I contacted JF, and they're not able to reproduce immediately - just like I'm not able to "make it happen" consistently.

The issue was either introduced in v3, or it was introduced broadly in the sim by the latest MSFS hotfix - I've only flown the Piper since the hotfix, but I've never seen this behavior in any other aircraft I've flown in MSFS.

Wondering if anyone else has spotted this issue?

Strange I've just come on this site to report exactly the same thing. With me its the VLOC standby only producing 3 digits i.e. 0.00, I've tried entering a NAV frequency but it doesn't work.

If I go to any other MSFS aircraft like the C172 that works fine. It happens with both the default GNS530 and the Mod version.

Yes. I've noticed this happening since the new release.

If anyone is seeing this consistently (ie on every single flight), please contact the JF support, as that might help them hunt down the root cause. For me, it only happens sometimes, so I'm not much help to them 🙂

Can you confirm if you were using the state saving feature (enabled via the EFB) when this occurred?

In my case yes, I keep it on for realism.

Just an update to my answer above.

I deactivated 'State Saving', shut down MSFS and restarted it and now when I turn on the battery the GNS530 is reading normally and I can enter a frequency in the standby VLOC box.

So for the time being leaving 'State Saving' off.

@Martyn For what it's worth, I'm also using state saving, and have been doing so from day 1 of this airplane. Today, I haven't had the 0.0-issue, but it did disappear before, only to reappear the next day, so I'm not confident it's gone.

I had this problem too, but disabling and re-enabling state saving once fixed it permanently. I've had state saving on for several days now without issue.

@Googlefluff I have just tried what you said and it seems to have fixed the problem. I now have State Saving turned on without the previous problems.
