    Hi,

I’ve not used the 146 for a while (we are spoiled for choice!) but have been enjoying many hours in it of late. I noticed only recently that in the F28 that I could map the Autopilot roll control knob to default key bindings, my only option as I’m on Xbox.

I’ve experimented for hours to determine if the roll control knob can be similarly assigned in the 146, but had no success.

Please can JF confirm if this feature is implemented in the 146 - and if not, is it planned for the future as it adds to the enjoyment of flying the F28.

    Many thanks.

Per the 146 manual, no control is listed for AP roll control. Pitch yes, but not roll.

That doesn't mean it isn't, I suppose but if you've tried a bunch (including what the F28 uses I assume) then it doesn't seem likely.

Counterpoint: I know that the HDG, Alt, CRS, etc. on the MCP are all bindable with default Sim controls, is there a reason you use roll over heading?

Thanks. Yeah I checked the manuals - which actually contain some errors in this regard. There’s also a footnote along the lines of the list of assignments in the manual not being comprehensive. My thought process was that if it’s implemented in the F28 (a rather nice sprung self-centring knob), it would likely be implemented in the 146. I’ve experimented with all the assignments I saw as likely candidates.

Just a nice to have - I really enjoy mapping as many controls to my yoke and MIAP Pro as possible. I use the roll control when going VFR and sometimes like to circle around things I wish to look at, loitering!

        Thanks.

@AlphaEcho said in Default key assignment for AP roll control knob:

I noticed that, but based on the mentions of things like pitch and roll axes I took it to mean it left out the obvious ones.

I can't load up the sim for a while to look myself, but I assume there's no AP ROLL HOLD REFERENCE the way there is for pitch?

Alternately, do you have access to developer mode on consoles? It's an in game setting and not an external sdk tool. There's a behavior viewer in there that's pretty great for clicking things and seeing the relevant L (not helpful for you) var or K var or whatever, but K vars are inherently sim bindable.

Hi. Thanks for the suggestions. No, there’s no roll equivalent of that pitch assignment pair. In the 146 the pitch command you refer to does successfully control the AP pitch control (although not visually).

I don’t think that developer feature you mention is available to Xbox users. But will take a look to be sure.

            Many thanks.
