Flashing "N1 Set" indicators?

I've been figuring out how to do an air-start with the RJ, assuming an INOP APU. I've got it all up and running, but during part of the sequence, the four N1 Set numbers are flashing at me. It eventually resolves itself when I get all of the Gens and Hydraulic pumps running. What does the flashing indicate?

The N1 SET display will flash to indicate an invalid air state.

Aha, that makes sense since I was tinkering with the air bleed switches to do the air + cross-bleed start. Thanks!
