Split axis rudder issue

Only having a car racing set of pedals, I use the split axis configuration in MSFS 2024. All planes and helicopters work fine with the rudder configured separately for the right axis (accelerator pedal) and left axis (brake pedal). The hawk doesn't work that way unfortunately.
Before I bite the bullet and purchase a set of single axis plane rudders, is there any way to make it work like any other plane using the split axis calibration? Thank you in advance for your help. I tried everything and runninng out of ideas (except buying a proper rudder set, I know ;))
