My First Full Flight in RJ100

    Hi

    I purchased this aircraft on Saturday and conducted a test flight the following day. Today I did my first full flight, EGLC-EGPH.

    Wow! What an awesome aircraft this is. Looks beautiful, handles extremely well and is surprisingly easy to hand fly.

    I loved the attention to detail and with a comprehensive set of check lists.

    Very well done JF. You have exceled yourselves with this product. I look forward to flying it in FS24 in the future.

    One little hiccup I did have, and I am assuming this is due to my misdoing. I entered the aircraft's position into the FMC and then stretched both IRS knobs to ALN. The solid light above the switches came on. After half an hour they had not started flashing, which I believe means they are aligned and I can switch the IRS switches to NAV. I am guessing this was something I missed a procedure on, and so will check again with my next flight.

    Thinking I would reset the IRS I was unable to move the IRS knobs to the OFF position/ Is this normal in the real aircraft?

    Thank you for the kind words.

    The normal procedure to align the IRSs is to place both IRS switches to ALN, input the initial position and route into the FMS, and then set the IRS switches to NAV. This will ensure the IRSs enter the navigation mode in the shortest possible time. The procedure you listed should also work, however, it is worth considering that we have simulated the "Time To Nav" functionality of the real aircraft, so the IRS alignment times do vary depending on the aircraft's position on the globe.

    With regards to moving the IRS switches from NAV>ALN, the switches must be moved up over a baulk between these two positions to prevent accidental selection of the switches from NAV>ALN. Clicking the centre of the switches will pull them out, then they can be rotated to the desired position.
