Updates?

Once the next update to FS Traffic has been released, the updated FS Traffic and FS Traffic Fleet installers will be available in the account of the store you purchased them from, and they will then need to be downloaded and installed. If purchased through the marketplace, the update will be available in Content Manager.

are we getting close?

A new version of Microsoft Flight Simulator is due for release in November. When it comes out developers are usually able to access something called a Software Development Kit (SDK). This shows them how to make Downloadable Content (DLC) for the game. With Flight Simulator it’s a fair bet that there will be some commonality of function between one version of the game and the next. Indeed, Microsoft has said that most DLC released for the older version should work in the new one with minimal updating required. We are hoping that will be the case for FS Traffic and all our other DLC content.
However, for the exact situation we will have to see what happens when the new game releases or its SDK - whichever is the sooner.

The update we announced in August is still being worked on and hasn't been released. As soon as it is complete we will announce a release date for the update. As well as that update we are looking at more aircraft and schedules etc, but probably won't announce the detail on those until after the new version of FS is out.

I found myself next to a ridiculously large Dash-8 at a very small airport, hope a smaller dash is still being considered
The AI aircraft should be in proportion to the real thing, so if you see an aeroplane that is too large it would be worth reporting to Just Flight support and they can look into it.

@Derek Yes, in Norway there is about 30 short-field operations with daily commuter traffic. These airports are mostly operated by Widerøe and by Dash8-100/200. If you delete Q400 from these routes, they'll be empty of traffic. I actually prefer an oversized dash, than no traffic at all...

So are you saying that FS Traffic is using a Q400 version as a generic Dash 8? That's probably the case - there is a limit to how many aircraft can be included and, despite the longer body, it's probably a better approximation than some of the other included planes. I don't think the planned update mentioned in August will address this issue but if Dash 8 1-300 types are included in the range of new aircraft models then that would probably fix it.
