Better Checklists
-
I've found the checklists in the back of the manual and they're pretty deep, my issue is their sorted by system and not phase of flight. I could go down the list and just do the relevant phases, but they're sorted alphabetically, too. Do I really want the air conditioning system the first thing I check?
Is this how the real ones are formatted?
I see in that manual it says the interactive checklists in the sim are sorted by phase of flight. I much prefer "paper" checklists on my tablet. Is there a way we can get the manual to reflect the layout of the sim checklists?

@jmarkows I agree. I'm trying to put together my own checklist together, but am discovering some glaring omissions in the manual, such as How The Hell Do You Use The NAV radios???
Seriously, you would think this is really basic, but I have searched the document and cannot figure out these radios. The little screen looks like a typical Active/Standby screen, and you can switch the freqs with an unmarked button on the left. The top number seem to be the active NAV1, but you can adjust them directly without going through standby. And where is NAV2? Utterly confusing.

Hi guys, there’s some great resources already available for the BAe 146, including these excellent cockpit flows kindly prepared by real-world WhisperJet jock @KenPascoe - https://community.justflight.com/topic/2871/bae146-sample-flows
Might be worth checking out the existing P3D and X-Plane 146 channels on the forum.Cheers,

@dreadnought1906 well I can at least help with this. Nav 2 is on the far side of the glare shield. It has no DME controls on it like Nav 1, nor a standby frequency, just the active.

@jmarkows Thanks for that. So the Standby display on Nav1 is simply a scratchpad to keep, say, the next navaid you are going to use, and is not strictly necessary - you can just keep changing the active freq directly?
I have the checklist working fine up until Taxi - but the sim crashes every time I start taxiing to the runway... Grrrrr!
I re-ordered a bunch of stuff that did not make much sense in the manual, for example, why set up the TMS, shut it down, and start it up again later? There are still 80 or so steps before Taxi - this is by far the most complex (i.e. non-automated) airliner I have simmed with.

@dreadnought1906 Nav 1 you can change the active or standby frequency, the switch on the right controls what you change and the button you the left swaps. Nav 2 you can only change the active.
I'll have a look at your checklists in a bit; the in game ones are exactly what I want (provided they're the full lists), just they're in game taking up my screen real estate.

@jmarkows Mine are still a work in progress - I see a couple of goofs in there now. My intention is to try to minimize the back-and-forth between the different areas - do as much as you can on one panel before moving on to another - I hate swinging back and forth for 1 or two things if I can avoid it, and basically get a checklist that can get you from Cold & Dark to the taxiway in 10 minutes or so without having to cheat by Auto-completing checklists. I did the same for the CRJ and it works nice.
