    @smthrn said in Traffic Global for X-Plane:

    I have to say Job Well Done!! Finally a Traffic program for x-plane that works great straight out of the box unlike previous programs that took forever to install hours of tinkering and still didn’t work. One question though, I downloaded the planes file and am not sur where to install them?

    Thanks for the feedback it is much appreciated. What's the planes file? The whole package should download as a single thing and then install directly.

    This is what I wrote in the TG forum on 30th September:

    https://traffic.justflight.com/topic/1455/forum-archive

    This forum has now served its purpose and, like the old public forum, is being archived. This means you can still read posts and threads but not create any new ones.

    A huge thank-you to all who have contributed. We are very grateful and your input has certainly helped immensely with shaping Traffic Global.
    This has been an interesting experiment. It's not something that would work with an aircraft, for example, but for a more subjective product like Traffic Global it has helped to see how users want to see the product develop.

    It's certainly fair to say that it's taken longer than we envisaged to complete the Early Access process, but we are now very close to completion so there seems little point asking for further suggestions on how the program should work. The final update is likely to see an update to the database and change to the way schedules and flight legs are managed. There are also a couple of small bugs to squash by way of aircraft winglets etc.

    For the future, as with previous versions of Traffic, we are aiming to produce some PlusPaks to add further traffic, planes and airlines to the product.

    Once again, thank you to all who have contributed.

    To discuss the product further please feel free to use the JF public forum:

    @Christopher-Low There's not too much footage currently. There might be a video forthcoming but no promises.

    @365manga As per the original thread, Just Flight support may be able to help, but the reason you can only see parts of the plane is because that's how the software protection works. You can't simply copy and paste product files - the software needs to check if it's a legitimate copy and a copy of the files isn't legit.

    Anything for FSX should work in Steam Edition - you may just need to tell it where to find the game.

    @Derek

    Oh, you saying already the 747 Classic isn’t going to be realistic? Guess it will be as bad as the cls one now then.
    And I’ll have to update all on current forums as to JF’s view on the new release being a major disappointment.

    No - it is the most complex and detailed aircraft JF has released to date and by 'to date' I am including all the aircraft we've published in the past such as 747 Ready For Pushback. However, from your posts it is fairly clear that you, personally, are going to be majorly disappointed, irrespective of how the product looks or behaves.
    The CLS 747, in its day, was an excellent aircraft and still sells well on Steam.

    If you are happy with FS9 then that's great. The rest of us will stick with PBR in a 64-bit sim.

    @warb7646 This is more common these days, PMDG do it too with their aircraft.

    @benibaz
    So what did you do to solve the undercarriage problem?
    I routinely fly this great "old bird" and am currently in US Virgin Islands on my way to Brazil and Argentina.
    When things go wrong, I usually uninstall the current version and download a fresh version from Just Flight's website from my account area. Just Flight has a great policy of letting you download when necessary.

    This is a really nice flying plane and I am still flying it in Northern Australia and heading for Indonesia and Papua New Guinea! I don't know about other customers, but when I buy an aircraft add-on, and like it, I want to keep it in my PC Hanger for years! Regular upgrades and compatibility issues would be welcome. This particular add-on is not a "study-level" aircraft, but gives you a real chance to practice navigation using VOR, NDBs and there is a GPS for those so inclined. One thing that would really help sales on this plane and other older add-ons - make sure it will run on FSX Steam and other current and upcoming new simulators.

    Happy Flying "UpYonder."
