TBM 850 upgrade (2020 to 2024) on Xbox Marketplace
-
Hi guys, I’ve just logged onto MSFS2024 Marketplace on Xbox, it says that there’s an upgrade available for the TBM 850 (from 2020 to 2024). When I click on the upgrade it’s wanting to charge me €45:99 for the upgrade even though I’ve bought it 2020 (and fly the 2020 version in 2024). Is this correct, I thought the upgrade was free?

…I’m currently using SU4 Beta (if that makes any difference…?)
-
Sorry for the delay! I was told that the MSFS 2024 TBM might be posted soon, so that must be what you're looking at. Our intention was for this to be a free upgrade, so if it's really trying to charge everyone, then this is either a mistake, or a miscommunication. If someone else can confirm this, I will see that we look into it immediately. Thank you!

I own the tbm 850
It’s also asking me to pay full price for the update , can this be fixed today ? -

@Black-Square It looks like it is on MP, at least for PC(FINALLY on PC!!!!!!!) but it appears to be a charged upgrade, I did already have the TBM on MP so it is showing as an upgrade but at what must be full price.

@jasmits Agh! Thanks for the confirmation. That was never the plan for it work that way. Hopefully this isn't a marketplace limitation, and nobody will think I'm trying to charge marketplace users twice for what Just Flight Store buyers are only charged once. I know that there are many of you who have good reason for preferring the marketplace, but this is also one of the many reasons that the service we're able to provide through the Just Flight ecosystem is much better for everyone.
I'll send an email to Just Flight immediately to look into this!

@Black-Square Thanks for the update, it sounds like someone at MS may have forgot to tick a box…? (for free upgrade).
I’m happy to wait for the fix now that I know that it’s a mistake (c’est la vie).Love your aircraft, I have the TBM & Duke bundle, looking forward to having the TBM native in 2024.

@Black-Square Personally, not anymore, my PC came today! Xbox really lowers the upfront cost to get into the hobby, it’s a shame getting products to the Marketplace is like pulling teeth, outside of the extra optimization to run on Xbox. Overall I really did have a decent experience on Xbox, but was ready to spend the cash for the full experience.
However this means all of the aircraft I’ve purchased in the past are stuck as the MP version :/. I did bring it up on another thread and don’t mean to harp on it, totally understandable if the answer is no I get it, but I’d really love if I could provide proof of purchase to transition the Dukes and Starship to non-MP. Just because I’ve been waiting for such a long time for the 24 versions. Don’t know if it’s possible, but I think I’ve been active enough here for it to be clear it’s not to pirate or gift, it’s not like I even could gift the mp ones anyway.
Hey, but congrats on getting the TBM up in 24, hopefully that shed some light on the issue for them all!

Looking forward to the Update and the Professional Series on Xbox!

As an Xbox user, the marketplace is the only place to go to, if we had the choice…. But no worries, we are patient as well even if we don’t want to. Cheers, love your aircrafts!!!

@Black-Square Thanks for taking care of this. I have all your planes and I really love them. I was waiting for the upgrade of TBM 850 since long time ago, and I got the nasty surprise of the "upgrade fee" yesterday. Very happy to see that it is a misunderstanding.

I am on Xbox. Can you please confirm that this new TBM850 marketplace upgrade addresses the previous problem of no engine sound for Xbox users. It would obviously be great to have the upgrade for zero cost (as I own the 2020 version) with the engine sounds which was the only reason I haven't flown the 2020 version in MSFS2024. Presumably the 2024 version has other benefits as well.

Our apologies for the TBM appearing with an upgrade price — this was not intentional. The listing has now been corrected. However, please note that updates to 2024 products are only released in Marketplace update windows. The next expected window is Thursday

Would one of the staff please answer my query (Ref : 13 above) concerning the TBM 850's previous problem of having no engine sound for Xbox users i.e. specifically - does the new 2024 upgrade on the Marketplace now have engine sounds?
@Flybeeson I don't have this problem. Have you updated it? Try reinstall/enabling the aircraft in your Library/Content Manager.

@KAPA-Flyer I also have no engine sounds with the TBM 850 in MSFS24 on Xbox. Waiting for the update to the 24 version to fix this.

Clearly I am not going to purchase the upgraded TBM 850 on the marketplace for £40 when I have already purchased the 2020 version. My question is this, for the 3rd time. If I do purchase the TBM 850 for free will it now have sound for those simmers on XBox? I.e. as KAPA-Flyer says “will the 24 version fix this”?
