Hi, bought yesterday, did a quick flight and everything seemed to work well. I understand the add-on overrides the date and therefore uses historic weather (well I assume so). How might this work with ATC addons? Will the QNH settings etc be aligned. What about wind when selecting runways etc.

It’s not a very well thought out out question I’m sorry. But the combination of these things makes my brain hurt.

Its OK, it's a topic that has come up a few times.

So I've just done a check of this.

For MSFS2024 and X-Plane it looks like it uses current weather, regardless of the date. You may be able to get historical weather up and running with something like Active Sky but it's not been tested with that.

Fly the Line doesnt interact with the weather so you can change it.

I need to investigate how to handle weather injection across all the sims. When I've looked at this in the past, it's been a little tricky.

Microsoft made external weather injection kind of unusable. Even all the addon softwares, like Rex or Active Sky, do (imho) a bad job. They might have a more accurate weather from time to time. But the external injection is area wide. No tiny weather cells (e.g. clouds on an island or around a mountain), like the ingame live weather system does. So for me ingame weather is far better looking (even if it isn't 100% accurate sometimes).
I would suggest to not go into that rabbit hole. 🙂

I love the fact that FtL is not influencing the weather in sim, please dont change this! I use realtime weather but with the time FtL is setting. This way I can use Simbrief and ATC programs like BATC and also VATSIM without messing around with weather.
