This has already been mentioned. I thought it was a simple fix, but my sound designer has told me that it's a limitation of the sound system. He has a potential workaround. Thank you!

Have also noticed that some switch/knob sounds seem to be undiminished with the headphones "on"

This is both a feature and a limitation. Audio effects cannot be applied to interaction sounds unless we do about 10x the work we are currently doing to create them, but I have also had users specifically tell me in my other aircraft not to apply the headphone isolation to warning sounds or interaction sounds, since they are not continuous, and provide important feedback.

@Black-Square speaking of sound issue, I noticed the way the engine sounds are muted when you close the cabin door is a bit immersion-braking. The engine sound is muted much too soon. Try it yourself next time you're on the ground with the engines running (I'm testing this in 2024 SU3 by the way). Face the door, and as soon as you click to close the cabin door, when it's still at least 80% open, the volume goes way down as if it was almost completely shut. It doesn't seem like it would sound like that in real life.

It's funny, that aircraft has such cool sounds that you notice a thing like that. In almost any other aircraft I would not even bother to pay attention to it and here it's almost like a little Slap
I could just sit for hours in the cockpit and flick switches, where many have their unique sounds, and listen too it. The door was already apparent in one of the promo videos.
You also every day find something new to listen too.
@Black-Square work for you because your work is too good...

@Marionettework Coincidentally, this has the exact same explanation as the subject of this thread.

How do you enable the headphones? is it through MSFS?

Click on the pilot's headphone jacks (below testing push buttons on the pilot's left subpanel). You can then use the arrows at the periphery of the clickspot, or your mouse wheel to adjust the amount of noise cancellation. Page 111 of the manual for examples.
