Starship 2024 installer not launching past initial screen

We are in the process of uploading ZIP versions of the installers as alternatives for those of you having issues with the running of the EXE installers. Note that is a separate issue to the one already fixed with activation.

The MSFS 2020 installer works for me (it appears a process called FindPkgs runs along side of it), but the MSFS 2024 installer hangs per the original post. Both installers are of the 'a' variant.

I have the same issue as @Outermarker - 'a' update did not fix it. The initial InstallShield window opens immediately, then it backgrounds itself and chewing up 7% CPU with no disk or network activity. It's like this for minutes. This after a reboot.

I'll open a ticket if it doesn't do something within 30 minutes.

Edit: the zip file does not fix it.
Edit: for giggles, I turned off my firewall. No change.

.Zip file starts the same InstallScript Setup Launcher titled BlackSquare Starship MSFS 2024 that fails to go anywhere.

Same here. Installer is using CPU but it's not showing anything.

Just for reference, the 2020 installer starts Findpackages (at the point where the 2024 installer just pauses without starting anything) and then goes to the activation (which works).
Hopefully someone at Just Flight knows what the difference is between the two installers.

this would all be solved if they just gave us an actual zip file download, that didn't have an installer in it
