TBM850 in 2024

For folks that are getting no engine or switch sounds, I found a way to fix it. This seems to be a cached stream file for the 930 that's causing issues.
I went to the following path for Steam:
c:\users%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\Packages\StreamedPackages
If you're using Microsoft Store/Xbox:
C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\StreamedPackages
Search for TBM
Delete the three folders with tbm930 labeled.
Launch FS2024
Go to Marketplace, then Library
Enable Daher 930
That will redownload the streamed package and the sounds will appear again.
Hope this helps and happy flying!
@drhorriblephd Interesting! I've never consider such a thing, and I'm not aware of it affecting any of my other aircraft. I will keep this in mind for other users having trouble. Thank you for sharing!

Hi all, I'm trying to configure this free app for Android and iPad: TBM Perf. It is very usefull to plan a flight. But I'm not able to configure the correct Arm (in) for the empty weight (4.806 lbs with the door's pilot). On the original POH there is only the Arm (in) for the standard empty weight of 4.762 lbs (without the pilot's door). Can someone help me? Regards.

Does it now use the new propeller animations in MSFS 2024?
I don’t believe so, I think Nick mentioned he looked into it but it didn’t work as well as he hoped. Not sure what thread that was in.

Still having no sounds in the TBM.
Did you make sure you have the default Asobo TBM 930 activated (it doesn’t have to be locally installed, at least on my machine it’s not) and that you do not have the 2020 version of the 930 still copied into your community folder (if you copied it over before the 2024 version of the 850 was released)? All I had to do on my end was delete the TBM 930 I copied from MSFS 2020 and then install the 2024 version of the 850 and the sounds worked fine. @drhorriblephd above also posted some steps you can try if you’re on the MS store version (I’m on steam so can’t comment on them). I’d say if none of that works you’d want to try a support ticket.

@Iconography Okay thanks. I really hope he can find a way to make it work or Asobo can make it easier for him. I've flown some default piston planes in MSFS 2024 and the props on them look truly amazing, way better than the static textures we got in MSFS 2020. I was hoping to get the same amazing look on the Blacksquare planes but I guess it's not to be just yet.

@meurkel I finally found the post I was thinking of: https://community.justflight.com/post/41564
So there’s a chance it will happen but not until he’s satisfied with how it looks (but he goes into a lot more detail than that).

Hard to say but I interpreted that as he would implement as optional IF he could find a way to make it work well enough that he was happy with it. I do gather that he’s been working on more pressing things after the release of SU3 so if I was to hazard a guess it’s not high on the priority list but that’s just speculation. Hopefully as things settle with the sim updates it will make things easier.
