Real Taxiways not working after SU6?
-
@vcapra1 Wow! Thank you very much for the instructions on the work around! :)
I must say I missed having them. Believe it or not they do add to the overall realism/feel of the game. I'm just surprised that Adobo came up short in that area of the game.

@geekgamertv Yeah, apologies for not posting those sooner, I've been using that workaround since OP mentioned it was possible.
If I recall correctly Asobo plan to address incorrect taxiways in 2022 or something, but I'd much rather they focus on stuff like flight model and weather.

I can confirm it's not not supported. Not to support it would be a no-no. That is to say, it is supported. However, with SU6 and then 7 we have been trying to find a cleaner fix than the one mentioned above and that is proving difficult.
The next pack (Europe) is in progress as well, but taking longer than hoped due to the above. More when we know more.

I just tried the update 1.1.0 and it's still not working right. To be sure I was checking it out correctly, I removed the community fix and restored those files to their original state. I then ran the update, and saw that the taxiway sign backs were no longer black. Also, when exiting the runway, it showed MMMM instead of the taxiway hold lines symbol. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, once with the original and the update, and once with just the update file, but the result was the same. So then I put back the community fix, and it all looked good again. Not sure what the update 1.1.0 fixed, but I did not see it.

I did everything as described here yet I still always see MMMM signs.
I am also wondering if the new filesize of TAXI_SIGN_SYMBOL.PNG.DDS being only 119 byte can be correct. Also it shows as a JSON file. Whenever I repair the installation the file is replaced by the same one.
A video on how to fix this would be very much appreciated. Even better if the installer would be updated or a patch be released. Thanks for any advise.

@ftnet305 This process can be very confusing if your file explorer (as it does by default) hides file extensions.
I'd turn that off (for this process definitely, but it just makes life easier in general being able to see file extensions). The 119 byte file is indeed the wrong one

If you contact Just Flight support directly they should be able to send you a file that will do it for you.
