Thanks. So now I basically have an aircraft for the trash, since it won’t run on the 2024 version and nothing is being done to make it work — unless I buy a new one for 50 euros. Is that correct?

      1. You don't have an aircraft - you have some software that adapts and upgrades an existing aircraft in MSFS2020. The original price reflected that.
      2. The software you bought for MSFS2020 still works in MSFS2020.
      3. There is a completely new version of the Bonanza (and the Baron) for MSFS2024. These are complete aircraft, not upgrades to a default aircraft, and these are sold separately on the MSFS MarketPlace.

I’m still trying to stay polite. I don’t care whether it’s an aircraft or ‘just’ software — it doesn’t work in the 2024 version, and I no longer use the 2020 version. So basically I now have an aircraft (software) for the trash. Thank you for this business policy.
I also don’t care whether the price reflects anything — the money is gone, and the aircraft/software doesn’t work in the current sim. I really have to think about whether I should keep buying aircraft/software from this company.

I'm afraid that has always been part of the experience. We (and very few other publishers) would ever specifically guarantee any title could be updated to work in a future version of a game. In this case it is impossible.
The software isn't 'for the trash' any more than your copy of 2020 was 'for the trash' when you bought a new and different version of the game from Microsoft.

I really can't add any more to this and will leave other forum users to chip in if they wish.

@striety If you disable the 2024 Baron in the marketplace and copy paste the 2020 Baron into msfs2024 community folder, the plane works for the most part. That said, the product you bought was advertised as an upgrade for a msfs2020 aircraft utilizing the sounds and visual model of the default 2020 baron. Since the 2020 baron is not in msfs2024 it is not possible to simply port the product over. As such black square made an entirely new product utilizing its own custom model, sounds, flight model, and all the new black square features/ realism. Any black square aircraft that received a free upgrade was because that aircraft already utilized its own custom assets.

It’s about the Xbox — it doesn’t have Community Order.

@striety In that case be thankful that you aren't like me having bought 16 copies of the same ~$80 737 over the last 12 years...

Show any of us where the Analog Bonanza was advertised for 2024. That you made the conscious decision to move sims without considering the add-ons you've invested in speaks far more negatively to you than it does for any of the people you're levying charges against.

Black Square and Just Flight are the most-consumer friendly devs in the business by the amount of free 2024 updates and upgrades they have given us, and instead you've found the small handful of dated aircraft that were never standalone, but upgrades to stock aircraft to bitch about.

That said, if you can install the 2020 Bonanza in 2024 locally, it might work.

@jmarkows Did you read everything here? If so, then you should know that the original topic was a discount promotion where you get 20% off if you bought the Analog Bonanza and then purchase the Professional version. However, this promotion only applies to PC customers, not Xbox customers. That’s what this is about.

Are you able to send me something showing the offer that PC users got that Xbox users didn’t? I’m not aware of any such offer as my understanding is the MSFS marketplace does not support offers between unrelated products, and I can’t find anything on our MP product portal that looks like such a thing. There was a 20% offer to Analog customers when we released the Pro version, but that was only for our direct customers and never appeared on the marketplace, due to such a mechanic not being supported. I wonder if this is being mixed up with a marketplace offer?
If you can send me a screenshot or whatever you can find showing this offer to PC users, I can approach my MS contacts and find out where it originated from.

Oh my bad, I thought your complaining about an unusable product in 2024 even though it was only advertised for 2020 was the issue. That's my bad for reading this drivel.

Try installing it locally or not, I'll keep flying my Professional that I got discounted 😁

I’m also on Xbox and I understand the frustration, but I think your ire against Just Flight is misdirected. It really should be directed towards Microsoft, for providing a very inflexible marketplace, where developers aren’t allowed the freedom that other 3rd party stores do.

Just Flight offer the discount where it’s possible, so it’s not some deliberate policy to screw some of the customers over. It’s also not only Xbox customers that are affected, if I understand correctly, it’s the same for PC users that bought from the marketplace. The difference, of course, is that the possibility to buy from other stores exist on PC, but not on Xbox.

For everyone that’s trying to provide solutions on how to make the Analog series work on 2024: there exists no community folder on Xbox, so what workarounds may have worked on PC, does not help someone on Xbox. While I don’t own specifically the Analog Bonanza, I do own the Analog King Air, and no amount of tinkering has ever gotten that thing to fully work in 2024. It is, however, working splendidly well in 2020. 🙂

With that in mind, I’m looking forward to the announcement and release of a Professional version of the King Air, for MSFS2024, which will no doubt also not be available at a discount, for owners of the marketplace version of the Analog King Air.
