Price Difference for Bonanza Professional on Xbox
-
I am writing to ask about the pricing difference for the Bonanza Professional aircraft in Microsoft Flight Simulator.
For PC users, the aircraft is currently available for €35.69. In addition, customers who already own the Analog Bonanza receive a 20% upgrade discount, which reduces the price to €28.55.
However, on Xbox the same aircraft is priced at €49.39, and there appears to be no upgrade discount available for users who already purchased the Analog Bonanza. As a result, Xbox users who supported your previous product end up paying significantly more for essentially the same aircraft.
This pricing structure feels unfair to customers on the Xbox platform, especially for those who have already invested in the earlier version. I would appreciate it if you could clarify why the upgrade discount is not available on Xbox and whether there are any plans to introduce a similar upgrade option for Xbox users.
Many Xbox players are loyal customers of your products, and it would be great to see pricing that treats both platforms more equally.
Thank you for your time, and I look forward to your response.

When you say "For PC users, the aircraft is currently available for €35.69" and "However, on Xbox the same aircraft is priced at €49.39", are these price differentials on the Microsoft MarketPlace? Both versions of the software should be available there and we are not aware that any titles have been priced differently in the MP.

I would like to point out the specific pricing difference I mentioned earlier.
On the Aerosoft website, the aircraft can be purchased for €35.69 (see: https://www.aerosoft.com/de/shop/flight/microsoft-flight-simulator/msfs-2020/msfs-flugzeuge/4686/just-flight-black-square-bonanza-professional-msfs). With the mentioned 20% upgrade discount for owners of the Analog Bonanza, the price is reduced accordingly.
However, in the in-game Marketplace, which is the only place where Xbox users can purchase the aircraft, the price is €49.39 and there is no upgrade discount available for customers who already own the previous version.
Of course, it is understandable that different platforms may have slightly different pricing structures. However, it would seem reasonable that the upgrade discount for owners of the previous aircraft should also be available for Xbox users.

OK - if this is about the difference between pricing in MarketPlace and outside, then that's not something we have control over.
Standard Retail Price must be submitted to the MarketPlace in US$. Then, AFAIK, it is converted using the MP's own metric, to local currencies and VAT (and other relevant taxes) are added. It seems to be the case that prices of currencies other than $US, on the MarketPlace (PC or XBox), can often be higher than those outside. As I say, it's not something we control. The $ price we submit is the one you'll find listed on our website.

OK, I understand that, but why don’t Marketplace customers get a discount then? Microsoft surely isn’t the one giving the discount.

Having checked it seems that, although it is possible to offer a discount on the MP between the same product on 2020 and 2024, the Analog Bonanza and Bonanza Professional are treated as completely separate products and so it doesn't seem to be possible to have any cross-product discounts in this case.

“OK, will there be an update for the Analog Bonanza on Xbox for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 so that we Xbox users finally get an aircraft that is actually usable?
-
It’s 2026 now, and if the last update was in 2024, it’s definitely time for a new one

Attached are some pictures of the Bonanza as it looks on the Xbox Series X in MSFS 2024 — and you tell me how anyone is supposed to fly it like this. Thanks.

That’s exactly my question. Will there be an update for 2024? There’s no discount for the new version, and this aircraft is basically only good for the trash bin in 2024
This product isn't a complete aircraft - it's an update to one of the default planes in MSFS2020. So, it's not possible to adapt it for MSFS2024 because the default aircraft is different. The Analog titles still work fine in MSFS2020. There are completely new versions of the Analog gauge aircraft for FS2024 and a small discount on these was offered to Analog owners that bought from the Just Flight and other retail sites. However, as discussed above, these are completely separate products from the original cockpit updates and therefore it's not possible to provide a discount on MarketPlace sales.
