Transponder/Com/Nav question

Can anyone let me know how to set a transponder code? I saw the updated included 'improved transponder logic' but I'm at a loss as to how to enter a code or change the xpdr mode etc.
Also, while I've figured out how to set a single com/nav and even ADF frequency, I've no real idea how to use the rotary channel selector (perhaps I shouldn't?).
Any tips on operating transponder and comms functions aboard this amazing craft are gratefully received.
