Re: P3D v5 Support?
Hello, hope everyone is well.
It's been quite some time since the last post regarding our venerable VC-10 and P3D version 5... any updates available on this ? I know this is the forum equivalent of "are we there yet" and the last thing any of the JF staff wish to hear - but PLEASE... just acknowledge that this project isn't dead.
You can guess I've tried to install my V4 version into V5 and gotten nowhere...

Still in progress and not forgotten but we don't have a release date as yet. As I said on the other thread, this is not a simple fix.

Many thanks for the confirmation.
With apologies if seeming overly persistant, I am still suffering the same bugs regarding the DC electrical system that I made support aware of more than a year ago, I accept development priorities are elsewhere but if a solution could make it into the v5 port I would be more than grateful. Any news on the promised fuel/ load manager would also be appreciated.Regards,

Again, I hope everyone over in JF-land are doing well.
It's been over a year since the last comment regarding the status of the VC10 being upgraded for P3Dv5.
Can JF confirm that this aircraft is still planned for upgrades to v5, or can we safely assume that it's been abandoned ? A year ago I got the impression that it was being worked on, even if slowly. But now it's looking as though it's gone the way of the Dodo bird.
Thanks in advance for any info.

P3D seems to have died faster than a mayfly at the end of a balmy summer - that is if customer feedback and product sale is anything to go by. Certainly a lot faster than FS2004 and FSX did, back in the day. AFAIK it is still on the development team's todo (dodo?) list. We'll check if any progress has been made.

Thanks for the very prompt response! Please check, it would simply be nice to know if we can look forward to seeing this beautiful model in v5 or not. If it's no longer a viable project, just let us know so we can all move on.
Take care,
Mark

Out of interest, do you have any plans to 'move on' - ie change from P3D to MSFS or XP12 when it comes along? As I alluded above, P3D has vritually disappeared as a platform. I'm just fishing around, really, to see what is keeping people on board with it.
-
Regarding "moving on" - I already own MSFS, but simply don't use it. It doesn't have what I want yet, like VC-10's etc. The constant world updates are also a pain, but understandable. For now, I'm sticking with P3D until MSFS can provide me with what I already have.
-
@derek Same as Bunkie here - I imagine the time will eventually come when I will move sims, however for the time being I'm sticking with P3D, especially as it has most of what I'm after already and is relatively stable, the prerequesite for me moving will probably be PMDG releasing their 747-400 for MSFS, though even then I'll maybe stay for the FSL Concorde when that releases.
Really I'm not personally expecting much these days as other P3D Users do seem to have dropped off quite a bit, though it would be nice to get some closure and see some of the outstanding P3D projects finished off.
