    Hi,

    A Pilot's Life will deduct points if the Beacon light is not on. I believe it looks at the LIGHT BEACON SimVar. However, the TBM-850 does not set this. I tried manually setting the value via a Spad.next but the value does not set.

    Is it possible to have the aircraft set this, or at least allow me to manually set it? I'm not sure if I set it and something is automatically setting it back to 0.

    I've seen this asked in the APL discord and don't see a resolution.

    Thanks!
    Rex

      Hi, I loaded the default Asobo Cessna 172 and verify setting SIMMCONNECT "LIGHT BEACON" to 1 satisfies the APL requirement. I'm able to manually set the value in Spad.Next. I also confirmed when the TBM-850 is loaded, setting the value manually doesn't work. The value goes back immediately to 0. Thanks.

        Hm. That's quite unfortunate, since many aircraft are certified now without beacons, as long as they have strobes (at least in FAA world). Unfortunately, the beacon simvar is connected to the underlying light circuit, so you would have to add a circuit to the systems.cfg. After this, you might be able to get that simvar working. If you want to try, the line would be...

        circuit.88 = Type:CIRCUIT_LIGHT_BEACON#Connections:bus.4#Power:0.1,0.1,20#Name:FauxBeacon

        Add this immediately after the line beginning with circuit.87 = in ...\[YourCommunityFolder]\bksq-aircraft-tbm850\SimObjects\Airplanes\bksq-aircraft-tbm850\systems.cfg.

        I hope that works for you! Please let me know.

          It works! Thanks for the help and the quick response. I'll spread the word in discord.
