    Hi ...

so far, I am extremely happy with the Baron. But today I did my first flight in really bad weather (LFPB - LFRB) and found out, that the Baron wasn`t really stearable with a CWC of 17 kts. No way to keep that thing on the Rwy. Landing behavior before felt great and realistic ... but not on the ground. Not even with the right technique (I am a real world pilot). Is this due to MSFS limitations, or might there be some room for improvement?

Ground friction is one of the major components missing from the sim. It would be a game changer if it was ever implemented. Planes behave the same on the ground as they do in the air. It is sad. Perhaps one day we will see ground friction and tire wear and ice slides.

@CoolGunS Although I've never seen the source code of MSFS, I can confirm that there are several different types of ground friction models implemented in MSFS, which even include the lateral and vertical deformation of the tires in the physics fed back into the simulation. Tire friction also depends on the surface type and precipitation, though there is no concept of ice, as far as I am aware. I'm sure it's not perfect, but I wanted to make sure that anyone reading knows that the simulator is not completely absent a ground friction model, and it might actually be far more complex than one might think.

Good to know! I read somewhere that it wasn't - maybe AI wrote that bit.

Thank goodness we've now created the most powerful global scapegoat in human history 🙂
