    Hello Captains,

    I’m experiencing a very strong bloom effect during my night flights in MSFS 2024 SU4 with the Baron, as if there were a huge fog in front of me. However, this happens even when the weather settings are set to ‘Clear Skies’. I’ve noticed that this doesn’t occur with other aircraft, so I’m treating it as an issue with the Baron rather than with the simulator itself.

    Does anyone know if this is a known issue?

    Regards,
    Caio.

      You can turn Light Shafts to OFF in msfs graphics settings to completely remove it. Unfortunately there is no effect from changing to any other setting but OFF. *Note that HDR forces light shafts to be on even when selected OFF so you will have to run without HDR as well if you were using that...

      I really hope Asobo address this along with the severe Icing I seem to encounter in clear conditions with no visible moisture (clouds/rain/snow) in the air ...

        @SadBucket

        Hello! Thanks for the answer.

        So is not an aircraft problem? Why doesn't this happen on some airplanes?

        Regards.

          @constelax It will happen on any msfs2024 native aircraft. As of SU4, according to Fenix team, Asobo has locked it on for all native aircraft. Which would be absolutely fine if Live Weather correctly simulated aerosols/ haze visibility in the sim rather than apparently setting it to as high as possible as the only setting for live weather. I have not tried it, but I have been told turning off live weather and setting clear weather preset in Sim apparently does correctly simulate unstable air and clear skies removing the light shafts... (tho I'm not sure if this was changed in SU4 aswell, they seem to like modelling some things stupidly) I really hope that Asobo will eventually fix it...

          I think its noticeably worse on black square aircraft since the landing lights are unusually bright and the cockpit is usually situated closer to the lights causing you to sit within the field of the "bloom" or light shaft when looking out the windshield. I also really hope Nick will add a dimmer landing light option in the tablet for us to get realistically worse landing lights 👀

            @SadBucket Thank you for this!!! Turning it off is a great workaround for now. I've just been waiting until the last second to turn my landing light on.
