state.cfg editing possible?
-
Hi there,
I tried editing the state.cfg to set the desired state for the aircraft to load in. I decided to reset the accumulated time and hobbs to 0.
But now the aircraft doesn't keep the time in check, everytime I load the aircraft the hobbs are back at 0.Did I do something wrong? Thanks in advance! (Awesome airplane btw!!)

Hello! I've never done editing of state.cfg myself, so hopefully someone else might have more insight. I know some have been complaining about the Hobbs time not being saved recently, but I think that's affecting aircraft beyond just mine, and I also don't do anything specific to save the Hobbs time either, leaving that completely to Asobo's logic. I don't know what kind of startup parameters you're trying to set, but you might have more luck with the *.flt files for the specific aircraft, where I would also be able to help you much more. I'll let you know if I learn anything about state.cfg, and you let me know if there's anything else I can help you with!

in MSFS (20), setting the hours works fine in state.cfg. In 2024, it doesn't, even though when you land the HOBBS has incremented. It also appears to negate the persistence of some things, like engine wear, but keeps others, like payload and passenger settings. I'm in the SU4 Beta, don't really remember whether SU3 saved it properly or not, but I don't think it did, which was one reason I tried the Beta.

@Black-Square Thanks so much for the response! I've moved to MSFS 2024 just before the release of the Baron and Bonanza, and I've been on SU4 Beta since day 1. So I'm not sure if people on SU3 are having the same issues...Maybe that might be something to look into?
I will go and have a look at the .flt files as soon as I land, and I'll get back to you if anything.
And awesome aircrafts btw! Coming from an airline captain, never thought I'd enjoy GA flying in the sim so much. Thank u!

@lilycrose Same here, also on SU4 Beta. I really hope this can get resolved soon. I've been putting quite a few hours on the Bonanza and the Baron, it's a shame not to see the Hobbs meter go up...
