Headset simulation?

There are no simulated headphones in the TBM at this time. Do you have the default TBM 930 from Asobo enabled in MSFS? It uses the sounds from that currently.
@jmarkows Yes I do. I am trying to remember the sequence as I had the BS TBM in FS2020. I wonder if I am using that version in FS2024.
Everything works perfectly in FS2024 apart from there being no engine noise. I wonder if I should redownload the plane again. I presume that is possible although I seem to remember there only being an option to disable it.
Are there any other things I can do or check?
Appreciate your time by the way.

No problem! That's what I'm here for

Your initial problem was that Asobo has not released our 2024 compatible marketplace versions in over two months, so they would be lacking sound altogether.
With the Just Flight version, are you sure you're not hearing just the engine sounds, while all other sounds are present? I would find that odd, but if all sounds are missing, then it's likely that the marketplace version is still being loaded and taking precedent over the Just Flight version.

@Black-Square It is just the engine sounds, even going outside whilst in flight it is very quiet. What do you think the best thing to do is? I like this plane so much I am quite happy to buy it again from Just Flight if that is what is best.

@Steview Do you think you could share a video? I'm quite surprised that everything could be working except the engine sounds, but anything is possible!

@Black-Square Do you just want a short video whilst in flight? I can flick a few switches and get ATC to say something so you can get a sound level.
I can do that tomorrow as it is 11pm where I am so cannot do it now.

@Black-Square Just out of interest I asked ChatGPT about the issue. I know you cannot always trust the answer bt this is what I got:
"The TBM 850 has two different models depending on whether you bought it through the Marketplace, and in the Marketplace version the headsets cannot be removed.
Thatโs why nothing is working." -

Did you check to see if the headphone simulation option in the simulator itself is enabled? We're not really sure how this feature is designed to work, so we implement out our much better and customizable headphone simulation, and I think most users leave this option off by default in the simulator's menu.

@Black-Square I did check the headphone simulation. There is an option to toggle headphones on and off. FS2024 has the following keyboard biding Alt + h but it didn't work in the TBM.
Could the issue be caused by me running the latest beta 4?
Now I know the engines sound should work I am going to have a really good play around and see if I can sort it out. Will keep you posted.
Thanks once again for all your help.

@Black-Square I have exited from the beta 4, uninstalled and reinstalled FS2024. Unfortunately the lack of engine noise still remains. However, the TBM is now labelled as the 2020 version. I am sure I had a 2024 version but perhaps I am wrong.
When I retested the TBM I made sure my Community folder was empty just in case anything there was anything interfering.
I checked most of the switches with the plane powered up and found the following had sound:
- Turning on the EFIS
- The Horn test
- Switching in the Inert Sep
- Turning on the Radio Master
- The flaps lever clicked between flap settings
I guess the sound must be related to the plane version although you did say the engine sounds came from the TBM 930 which I do have enabled.
So, I don't think I have anyway to move forward at the moment. I will just wait until a 2024 version appears in the Market Place or in my Library.
Thanks again for your help.

I noticed that the latest beta didn't seem to be displaying the 2020 banner, so that might be part of the confusion!
If it's displaying 2020, then the missing sounds are exactly what I would expect.
Didn't you buy the TBM from the Just Flight store? If so, you should be able to get sounds by disabling the marketplace version from your library, and then reinstalling the Just Flight version.
