Unable to reset vacuum pump failure
-
Hello, I was doing my first flight in the Bonanza turbo with failure rate set to 5x, and had a Vacuum Pump failure. I switched to the standby gyro pump without any trouble, and reset the failure after landing.
I started back up again, but found I was still getting gyro warnings. I failed and reset the vacuum pump a few times, but it still did not work and I had to continue using the standby pump.
I did not have any other failures at that point. The nav lights also failed during that flight, but worked after I reset the failure.
I tried failing and resetting Vacuum Pump Partial as well, but that one seemed to work fine after resetting the failure.
There appears to be something funny with this particular failure.
I should add, I am using FS2020 version.

Hmm.... I was expecting to find some shenanigans here, because the vacuum failure trigger is from at least FS98, and I don't think the code has been changed since then. However, I tried exactly what you suggested here in MSFS 2020, and I can toggle the failure on and off with no problem. I'm not exactly sure what to suggest from there. I guess my only suggestion would be to load a fresh flight, start the aircraft, and see how the failure behaves before doing anything else. That might give us some direction to look in.

Hah, I had the opposite problem. I too had a vacuum pump failure on a recent flight, and used the standby for the rest of the flight. I did not reset the failure, but instead just shut everything down, imagining I would get it to maintenance the next day. However on sim restart the failure was gone, it seems the problem with state not saving has some benefits after all

I haven't been able to reproduce it, done a ton of flights since then, so maybe it's sorted. If it happens again I'll check back in!
