    Hello,

I have recently caught on to the development of turbine bonanza that will be wrapped into the upcoming bonanza professional update for msfs 2024.

Single engine turboprops appeal to me big time so been looking into bonanza turbine variant and understand that version we are getting is the Pratt and whitney pt6a. although, discovered there is version with allsion-250 turbo prop engine, to which apparently only 60 bonanzas were made with this engine.

Just intersted on the decision process for choosing the engine variant to model? was it because of the rarity of the allison variant or was it because of the familiarity of modelling the pt6 with having experience with making it in the sim for the tbm850.

Just wondering as would have been interesting to see more unique turbine engine such as the allison in the sim. Also, really like the cowling design for the allsion engine on the bonanza :D.

    Many thanks.

This was not an easy decision at the time! From today, it's easy for me to wish that I had done the Allison 250 too, but that's because all the hard work is behind me. It was mostly the familiarity with the PT6, but also because more modifications were necessary to the instrument panel to support the Allison. The work for supporting a new engine goes far beyond the aesthetics for a Black Square aircraft, as you might imagine. One of the most time consuming parts of the process would be making a new engine visualizer from scratch. I also preferred the cowling design on the PT6 version, and I found that many of my confidantes found the tip-tanks on the Allison version to be "weird". For anyone looking forward to a geared turbine simulation in MSFS, you only need to wait for my Commander 690. Great question, and always happy to answer.

Thanks for the response. Makes sense, although I didnt realise there would be greater change in the instrument panel. I will agree the tip tanks at least look weird to me as was a surprise when I was doing my turbine bonanza binge to see the winglet molded into the tip-tanks which is not something you see very often (thank-goodness). Anyways I look to forward to further satisfying my turboprop addiction upon this gem being released.
