v1.2 quick feedback & couple of nitpicks
-
I'm hugely thankful to see the Duke update after such a long wait, and have installed all 4 packages into both sims.
I had a quick look at the piston Duke before I retire for the night, just a walkaround and engine start (no flying). Some quick feedback below.
The nose compartment has a typo on the label. It was likely there before, but I hadn't done much of a walkaround until now!
The panel light wheels, to change intensity, seem to have incorrect mouse pointers for the 'up' action (shows a 'no entry' type pointer).
Next update wishlist item: Could we please have the option to remove all of the pitot & static covers, chocks, and engine covers individually, instead of in symmetrical pairs? Much more immersive (if MSFS 2024 allows). Perhaps the click range can be reduced too, as I sometimes clicked the chocks toggle while trying to open the nose compartment or while turning the prop (nice feature!). It's possible to click 'through' the aircraft.
I also found it very easy to 'glitch/teleport' when trying to move between the fuselage and props. I'll suddenly reappear at the door behind the left wing (may be a sim issue). And a very minor thing, it's not possible to crouch and go under the wings, not even the wingtips, but it looks like there ought to be enough clearance.
Not sure about this one: Sat on the ground in the Caribbean, the air conditioning didn't cool the cabin at all from 33°C (was around 29°C outside). I haven't flown the Duke in hot climates as yet and normally have the heater on instead, so could be I had misunderstood the AC. Fan was on high, door & window closed. The tablet showed the aircon system was cool but the plenum stayed hot the whole time. Will check it again another time.
Overall though, these amazing aircraft just got even better! Thanks to Nick & the JF team
Regards,

I think for the piston duke, you have to run the right engine at least 1300rpm for the AC compressor to start spinning. Maybe that's why it wasn't cooling

Thanks both. I'm not surprised to hear that. I've been flying in quite northerly latitudes for a while, gradually crossing the pond to northern Canada. Cooling was never an issue. Prior to that, in and around the UK, I have never needed the air conditioning (when the real weather was hot enough, it was too hot to fire up MSFS and don a VR headset). I have likely read about the RPM requirement once, long ago.
Something must have been partially working at around 1100-1200rpm as the cooling lines were coloured green vs everything else in orange - that's what struck me as odd else I wouldn't have mentioned it here. Now I can cool off

@Mustang said in v1.2 quick feedback & couple of nitpicks:

For future reference, when the air conditioning system is fully functioning, the refrigerant lines will be orange and blue. Orange on the return line, and blue on the feed line.
