    Unless you have seen drastically different behavior with other aircraft, I think this is just reality with MSFS 2024. The exterior light intensities are already several times higher than the default aircraft, and with the current version of MSFS 2024, they also generate very unrealistic volumetric effects, which we are trying to get fixed on the developer forums. Unless there is some other setting that I’m unaware of, I’m not sure there is anything I can do.

      Dear Black Square, with all due respect, I'm not really convinced.
      Take a look at the Cessna Skywagon 185F. The navigation lights and the beacon were previously not visible during the day. This problem has been solved with the SU3. So I think it should be possible to somehow make these lights more visible during daylight on the Dukes.
      Have a look at the F33A, B55, and CT210N from Carenado...
      The A2A Aerostar uses the same kind of beacon as the Dukes, and yet you can still see the beacon light during the day. So I really think it could be better.
      Please have a look at this Youtube video from timestamp 1:03:25
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjYhFgT12q4
      The Aerostar has nice clear navigation and stobe lights during daytime. Also look at the beacons, so it should definitely be possible to improve your external lights for daytime on the Dukes.
      Kind regards

        Thanks for the video. I’m not at my desk this week while on a family trip, but I will take a look when I get home. I can’t imagine what would cause such a substantial difference, since I’ve been doing my lights the same way as the SDK recommends and as the MSFS 2020 default aircraft, but I will look into it.

          @Black-Square,
          You guys make fantastic planes and I'm sure you'll be able to improve the lights during daytime, before SU3 many planes had this problem with dim lights or not visible at all during the day.
          Take your time, don't rush; thanks in advance for checking it out, but as you saw in the video it should be possible.
          Kind regards

            @Black-Square They're just simulating the constant wildfire smoke in North America. Completely realistic. In all seriousness though, its like the aerosol levels are cranked to the max regardless what weather is loaded in the sim, very frustrating.

                @Fabbi Lights should be visible in day only when standing right next to them. I'll load in and see if they're that unnoticeable, but speaking from real world experience I sometimes have to cover a light from the sun to make sure its on and would never be able to tell from like 10 meters away...

                  Maybe I can agree on the navigation lights but strobes and beacon should be bright and visible when standing next to the aircraft even from a certain distance.

                    @SadBucket I often tell simulator pilots this about real world flying too. Seeing my navigation light in the Florida sun is virtually impossible without covering them with a jacket. Landing lights on GA aircraft are also relatively ineffective in the real world, but simulator pilots want them to light up half the runway length. I’ve chosen something between the two, but the volumetric effects in MSFS 2024 have made the night flying experience much less enjoyable while the landing lights are on. Again, I will take a look at MSFS 2024’s lights when I get home.

                      I think the entire lighting system in MSFS24 is broken. Just look at how the sun and all the lights appear, with those unnatural rays coming from the center. Everything about the lighting feels wrong, and it seems like all developers are struggling with it. I think we should push Asobo to address this issue and bring back the lighting quality we had in MSFS2020.

                        @Black-Square

                        About the old fashion navigation lights that they are harder to see in clear weather, yes I can understand.
                        I think the lights are very nicely done at dawn, dusk, and night.
                        If the navigation lights in the sim are like the Dukes' real-life counterparts, then they can stay that way, but you should be able to clearly see the beacon light during daytime even from a small distance. Now this is not the case.
                        And strobes.. during daytime, standing next to the aircraft you expect a bright flash not ?
                        The most I would love to see a bit better in fact is the beacon light during daytime.
                        This is my opinion, but I am certainly open to hearing what others and real Duke pilots think about the Dukes external lights in the sim.
