Yaw damper effective ?

Hello,
WOuld like your insight on the Yaw damper. Since version 1 I never really saw a difference having it on or off. Today with version 1.2 at high altitude with gusting lateral winds at 30kts the aircraft is yawing like a vomiting rolling coster. So much that it kills the AP and crash. This is with realistic turbulence that always behaved OK with me and my addons. Could it be the issue ?Thanks for your input.

Realistic Turbulence is anything but. Especially for smaller/GA planes, you want Low or Medium.

So you never set to realistic on your side ? Would this explain the behaviour of the Starship ? It is the first time I witness this reaction at cruise level.@s.mellah I had it set to Realistic in 2024 and went and changed it after two flights. I don't think it really affected me during cruise, but I was in pretty benign weather, but near the ground it was horrible and nigh uncontrollable, especially under 5k AGL in some western PA foothills.
I did a bit of Google-fu to confirm the community still thinks Realistic turbulence is overwhelming in 2024, as had been the case in 2020. I set it to low and have been happy since; I might experiment with medium at some point. Opinions differ on which is better, just that realistic is not.

I stick to medium, personally. "Realistic" is absolutely insane and exaggerates way too much, especially on approaches with light or calm winds. Medium is still a bit heavy but it's more manageable without wrestling with the yoke and pedals.
I would speculate that "realistic" works better with heavies but I don't fly many airliners in sim. I've noticed less an effect with the greater inertia in similar conditions, so I picked the middle ground, if even medium feels a bit too strong.
