More importantly, I want to hear how happy Nick is with the update re: his various gripes and bugs.

Does this mean a lot can be cached locally now, I only have 2020 and the non local storage was a big barrier for me?

You can choose what you want to have locally. For example, I have Kai Tak saved locally because the complexity of Hong Kong City meant that sometimes you'd land on a blurry runway. Not anymore.

                  Hi All,

I just didn't want to leave this topic unaddressed. None of the blocking issues that we've been requesting from Asobo were fixed in SU3, and several new smaller issues were created. I have addressed them all now, and will hopefully be releasing all the updates within the next two weeks.

@Black-Square Does this have any impact on the Starship making it to Marketplace for those of us on Xbox?

No, it will be submitted for marketplace approval as soon as the new update is released. It breaks my heart that MSFS 2024 is an imperfect platform for my aircraft, but I'm not sure that waiting much longer will change that, so I want you to all enjoy it.

@Black-Square was 2020 a better platform for your aircraft? Without getting into a 2020 vs 2024 debate if that’s possible?

I should also try to reign in my opinions on 2020 vs. 2024, because I was trying to remain very neutral at the beginning, but after nine months of little improvement on my end of things, it's been difficult.

I believe there are serious deficiencies in MSFS 2024 that affect the user experience across the board, but if I limit myself to only what is experienced directly with my aircraft, the registration issue is obviously near the top of the list. After that, there is a programming oversight in the EFB payload interface that renders it incompatible with canard aircraft, so I've had to add my own tablet to my Velocity. There was the flashing screens with lock interaction mode that luckily has been fixed. There is now a workaround for light flares that show through objects.

Beyond those, I would say that the lighting/exposure-compensation in 2024 is my biggest gripe. I spent a lot of time in 2020 making sure that all my lights and ambient light bounces were well leveled for nighttime flying, along with screens, photocell dimmers, and my custom lighting features, like strobes in clouds, voltage dimming, voltage regulator pulsing, and ambient solar calculations. All lighting needs to be retooled for 2024, which takes many hours or days. Once the lighting position and intensities are all tweaked, the exposure compensation system will undo any leveling that I had done, producing scenes with washed out blooms, or black holes that are not representative of real world night flying. Perhaps this is the one that bothers me the most, as night flying is one of my favorite experiences in the real world.

As a last note, I'm happy for those who are having good experiences with MSFS 2024, but as you can imagine, hearing that many are now experiencing more crashes, stutters, lower framerates, skipping sounds, etc., just makes me sad, because my aircraft were made to be enjoyed, and never to be associated with frustration.

I'll stop there, as I try to waste as little time as possible merely complaining about these things, since that does little good for anyone. I hope that answers some of your questions, and thanks for giving me the opportunity to share some of my thoughts. Back to work!

@Black-Square Just want to say I've been having no issues on 2024. Starship works great for me and I love it! I absolutely cannot wait for king air as I'm doing a type rating on it atm. I do wish msfs would play better with canard aircraft... I kind of wonder how A2A's flight model would handle it, if that's even a thing on the aerostar. I'm rambling - but yes, keep up the amazing work! Very excited for aero commander. And just want to toss this up in the air for the sake of it... Westwind? 😶
