I recently paused a flight (I used the standard "Esc" pause to handle a need to step away).

After returning to the flight I noticed that the speed had dropped. A quick glance at the EICAS showed the left engine RPM had dropped considerably and the left Prop handle was back quite a bit. I brought the RPM back to cruise and all was well.

The next time I paused the same thing happened - the left RPM setting was down and the Prop handle way back. Is this just a quirk of FS2020 or is there some setting I can use to stop this behavior?

I suspect this is simulator related, since my code does nothing to affect the input positions of the propeller levers. If you want to investigate further, you could try it with other aircraft, or contact Just Flight Support. They have more experience with simulator level questions than I do, so they may have seen it before.

I see this behaviour all the time, and it doesn't need to have the simulator paused. It happens in real time. I see the ITT drop by some 50 degrees. Then it starts to rise at a rate of about 2 or 3 degrees a second. It keeps rising way above the previous temperrature, almost always going above red line. It sometimes happens to just one engine. I believe it is related to "wind shear" caused by real weather. That's the main cause of my engine damage. I usually leave the plane in autopilot and go do something. When I return, the ITT is all the way into red and, if I'm lucky, I've only lost 5% of the engine health.

@CassiKess I've noticed that too, hence now I tend to give it quite a margin on cruise.

I've seen this particular response with no other aircraft (loss of power and movement of controls), though I've often had the Longitude start climbing above the set altitude after coming out of an escape pause.

Today I paused the Starship in this manner 3 times. The first time the same thing happened - the RPM had dropped and the left Prop handle had dropped about 2/3. I was ready and brought it back to 1600. However, surprisingly, the 2nd and 3rd time the aircraft held steady, there was no RPM drop and the Prop handle was where I left it.

A quick note that today's flight brought back the original issue with all pauses. Now that I know it's probably going to happen I'm ready to do a reset as soon as I reenter the cockpit - just something that I deal with.
