GNS430 never allows me to use OBS mode to a waypoint for approach

On the A321 when doing a RNAV approach and im being vectored normally I use the RADIAL IN function on the MCDU and it works no issue.
Im trying to do the same with the Starship:
First I load the approach into the FMS, then I do the same into the GNS430, Third I set the SEL TRK mode on the FMS to go inbound radial direct to the FAF or IF for vectoring. However to do this on the GNS430 I need to use OBS mode and for some reason it never lets me, it keeps saying "OBS not available" every time.
