I picked up Taog's excellent OH6A/H500C heli combo the other day, and noticed a really nice quality-of-life feature that imo is how it should have done it in the first place.

Usually, when you're outside the plane in avatar mode and you open a door, you're unceremoniously dumped in the cockpit. Starship doesn't, but you still have to hit Shift-C to enter the cockpit.

On Taog's heli, when you open the door, nothing happens until you mouse over the cockpit, whereupon a "Click to Enter" tooltip appears. Left click and you're in. I find this to be a lot more immersive, and I wish other aircraft worked like this.

I always wondered this. I've seen a popular stream walk up to the main entry, and he enters the plane. With me I get halfway up the stair, and I have to press Shift-C to enter back into the aircraft. However, I can open or close the main door and stay outside. On SU3 Beta. Is it difference for you guys? Or do I have a setting disabled?

I have actually seen a surprising number of my users express great thanks for Starship not automatically teleporting you when you open/close the door, a sentiment with which I thoroughly agree. I'm not aware of how this could be done with a clickspot, but I haven't looked into it tremendously. In general, the enter/exit aircraft functionality, and placement of avatars inside the aircraft in 2024 is very poorly conceived, and difficult to work with. Currently, some of these features reset the payload every time you enter/exit. The show/hide copilot functionality doesn't work. Node visibilities are not respected for passengers. There are lots of holes that I have generally avoided to provide a more consistent experience for everyone, instead of catering to the features demanded by a few. I hope that makes sense. I will look into how a clickspot can be added in the future.

The clickspot may be doing nothing more than sending a Shift-C keystroke.
