Hi, I'm still relatively new to MSFS. Can someone tell me what is causing this fog/bloom like appearance when the landing lights are on? It makes it really hard to see outside at night. I took the screenshot when just before the right landing light comes on so you can see what im talking about with the left landing light.

I'm not a fan of that effect either, but most MSFS users also want unrealistically bright landing lights, so I am forced to play a balancing game between the light bloom and many complaints about "dim" landing lights. I thought there was supposed to be a way to adjust the "volumetric" effect of lights, but that seems to have been reverted to all-or-nothing sometime back in MSFS 2020.

Oh man that's a shame. I'll have to try and manage. Hopefully asobo will give an option to adjust this because I could barely see to taxi. It seems to also affect the cockpit lights, I have every light switch on the lowest setting and there is still a very slight haze to the integral lights

If you're using MSFS 2024, both of these effects are much worse. The way exterior lights affect the interior illumination with exposure compensation means that I can never fine-tune the interior lights to get the perfect effect that was so easy in MSFS 2020.
